Ghosts 'n Goblins Sprites/How to rip sprite sheets

Anyone know where I can find some sprites from the NES version of Ghosts 'n Goblins?

I have several websites I usually use to find various sprites, but much to my surprise Ghosts 'n Goblins doesnt show up on any of them. So if anyone knows where I could find some, let me know.

On a related note, this small problem got me thinking. How does one go about compiling a sprite sheet? Is it difficult/time consuming or something that wouldnt be too bad to do whenever you can't find what you need?

  • google it or just use yy-chr to rip it
  • It's pretty time consuming, since you have to build the sprites from the in-ROM information.

A game like Ghosts and Goblins, with fairly "normal-sized" sprites, shouldn't be too bad, though.

The ugly ones are games like the Dragon Warrior series with all manner of bizarre sized graphics.
  • In other words, it's fun if you like jigsaw puzzles. I'll just wait for someone else to rip a complete Crystalis sprite set... been a long wait.

That is, if you like jigsaw puzzles in 4 pixelated colors with all smooth edges and all the pieces have exactly the same shape image
  • if you're just using the sprites for some sort of project (cough.. perler beads.. cough...) it's easiest just to print screen on an emulator and paste into a paint program. Makes it easy to work with the pixels and zoom is your best friend image
