This weekend's finds!!!! 1/31 flea market finds
Well, so far this weekend has been very successful for my SNES collection.......
Friday afternoon after my wife and I got off from work we ran a few errands...and I stopped by a Salvation army thrift store. I'm rummaging around the store and stumbled upon 3 SNES games....mostly sports games...BUT in good shape....for $1.50 each. Upon taking them to the counter to pay for them I ask the cashier if she had any other games. She replies that " Yes, I have these games under the counter that a lady never came back for" Still, nothing spectacular, but for $1.50 each I figure what the hell:

Now, onto my REAL find..... This morning my wife and I stop in at the local Goodwill store and as soon as we walk in I spot one of the employees pushing a cart full of electronics to the sales area to put on shelves. I give him a couple minutes to put the stuff out...then I wander over to check it out. As soon as I pass the clothes racks I spot a SNES system on the shelf. "I haul ass over to pick it up...and I nearly fall over looking at the price $5.99!!!!!!!!!!!! It's complete, mint condition, and has a note attached to it---"Has 5 games ask cashier"
At this point, I'm beyond psyched on the system---but now I wonder what the games are?? I rush up front to pay for the system and find out about the games. I spy the stack of games in a glass display case.....and holy hell, the first game is Super Marioworld---nice, since I amazingly didn't have it yet. The clerk pulls the games from the case...and there sits the following: Donkey Kong Country 2,Aladdin,Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Marioworld, and Super Mario's All Stars!!!!!!!!!!! All of the games were CLEAN....and the system works perfectly!!!!!!!!!

Tomorrow I'm headed off to the local flea market.....no telling what might turn up out there....

$5.99 for an SNES with games...wow I think they shifted the decimal point one place
yeah, i was thinking about saying I wouldn't pay more than 59 cents for this lot, but didn't want to be rude

HAHAHA....funny thing is, the manager is the one who priced it. The cashier called him to the front to make for certain that the games actually went with the system....and he said "Yes Sir, games go with it" I simply smiled and said ok, THANKS
Lucky. I was thinking about going by the Good Will today after work...I might have beat you to it
Yeah, it totally WAS Luck.....or fate...whatever LOL. I told my younger brother a couple weeks ago that I needed to start making random stops in that Goodwill and he laughed. I kept getting a feeling that I needed to be going on a regular basis.
With so many people in the area scooping up games and such like that to sell out at the flea market I was shocked that it was there---but then again my saving grace was being there right when he put it out on the shelf.
I'm positive that system wouldn't have lasted an hour sitting there......
Hopefully we'll meet up today Ethan....and I'll show you my real fishing grounds LMAO
Nice find
Well, today my wife and I headed out to our local flea market hotspot to see what goodies we could turn up today. We also met fellow NintendoAge forum member "Nullending" and his girlfriend. They had no idea this flea market existed.....so we were glad to hang out with them and spend the morning...VERY cool people for sure....and I look forward to meeting up with them in the future!
Ok, for my finds.... first pic are games that were all bought for $1.....mostyl sports games, but games that I didn't own yet...so nonetheless I bought 'em for $1 each
Next pic is a group of accessories that I picked up. The N64 Jungle controller is in mint condition $7, the Zapper was $1,SNES Game Genie $5, NES controller $3 (really clean), The wireless Quick Shot,Quickshot receiver,Logitech Xbox receiver, and an NES MAX controller (not pictured because I gave it to "Nullending" because he didn't own one yet) were bought in a box of other random cables all for $2.
And after I left the flea market my wife and I stopped at one other flea market type place that I haven't stopped at in months. There used to be NES stuff at this place long ago....so I figured that I'd check it out. I walked the place over...but didn't find anything. I was just about to leave when one of the sellers there asked me if I was looking for anything in particular. I told him only old Nintendo junk.....he smiled and said follow him. Turns out, he had boxed up all of the games and such.....and he literally blew the dust off of the boxes when he pulled them down from a shelf to show me what he had.
He had a total of 35 games......and told me that he'd take $2 each!!!!! I only had $10 left (so I bought 5 games)....BUT, I'll go back next weekend and buy the rest. He also has some other stuff that he said that he'd dig up this week...... so who knows what he'll turn up
I've known this guy for a looong time, so I know this deal will turn out all right. (Ethan, once I pick up the stuff I'll let you know what's duplicate bro
)
Here's what I just couldn't walk away and leave behind:

Awesome man, again, it was GREAT meeting you and Sara.....hopefully we can perhaps organize a meet and greet for the Houston area soon ...and get to know and working with some other locals to help build our collections.
Don't bother dying that one controller like we talked about....I just tried mine.....and I kinda screwed it up but just a little bit of overheating----but the dye didn't go as deep into penetrating the plastic as I'd hoped
I'll call you as soon as I score a few of those deals I'm working on....and let you get first crack at any extras bro....
GREAT weekend again....friggin' cold this morning...but it turned out great!
