Famicom Arkanoid controller compatibility?

Long story short, just wondering if anybody here knew for sure if the controllers that came with either Arkanoid or Arkanoid II for the Famicom would work with the NES?   I was thinking of picking one up, and figured for about the same price as just the US Vaus, I could have the famicom game and Vaus.

    i considered that too but i decided the FC controllers plugged into the expansion port on the console, for which there is not an equivalent port on the nes. i assume with some rewiring, they could be made to work but i didn't get that far.

    Yeah, I finally found a pic of the end of one and a pic of a famicom where I could see it clearly. Too bad, because the famicom Vaus controllers look badass.

    There are quite a few cool controllers that work on the famicom expansion port. You can swap the end with a nes compatible one though, or make an adapter pretty easily. Generally, this will allow them to work on a NES.  Since these are special controllers for that particular game though, even if you played it on a famicom, though, I'm not sure if the controller for Arkanoid II is compatible with the NES game or not.
