Caveman_games
shit bricks
Summary:
On 4-1 Caveman_games and I agreed on a trade. After I shipped the items he was having a lot of trouble shipping his. Even after the assist of admins he was unable to ship me the items and then wanted to back out of the deal (while my games were allready in the mail). When the games arrived he didn't want to pay the discounted price i gave him, he offered a far lower amount and threatened to burn the games. After that threath I contacted admins again and they advised me to make this topic to show everyone how Caveman_games has been handling the trade with me
Read below and see for yourself
--------------------------------------------------------------
On 4-1-2010 Caveman_games contacted me about a bunch
of pirate NES/Gameboy games I was offering in a topic here on NA. (http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=...)
After
some PM contact we agreed on the following deal (quote from PM)
Yours:
(caveman_games)
- Castlevania figurine on card
- Resident Evil
5
snowglobe (i ment that one)
- Contra (NES, cartridge)
- Super C
(NES, cartridge)
- Final Fantasy II (SNES, cartridge)
- Chrono
Trigger (SNES, cartridge)
- Super Mario RPG (SNES, cartridge)
-
Chrono Cross (PS1, Black label complete)
- Dragon Warrior VII (PS1,
Black label complete)
- Thousand Arms (PS1 Black label complete)
Mine:
(xtincthed)
NES:
-
konami entertainment game cartridge (asian version) $25
- Ducktales
$25
- 4 games in 1 $25
- 260 in 1 (board is loose in the cart) $25
-
Ghostbusters (fami) $10
- 42 in 1 (fami) $15
- 250 in 1 (fami)
$15
- 190 in 1 (fami) $15
-all the gameboy pirates (minus
magical chase)
selves
We both agreed on the trade in the NA
transaction system:
http://www.nintendoage.com/index.cfm?FuseAction=My.Tran...
We
agreed to send the games asap and we agreed that I would not get
tracking, because that is rediculously expensive from Europe to USA
After
i shipped my items i'm getting a couple of PM's asking for my adress
(which i gave 2x allready).. later on i get the following PM:
problems shipping to me? Maybe we should cancel the deal...? Every
time I go to the post office I get something new thrown at me....
from Fedex of over 150$ just to ship..this isnt a deal to me.
that's
rediculous.. i've gotten huge and heavy packages (for instance the
protectors from bum) for so much less.. i keep asking him to go back to
the post office, because something is obviously going wrong..
His
reply:
I'd like to cancel the transaction if you agree.
I see you have a
positive background here as do I so I would be sure to leave you pos
feedback if you do the same for me. I see you suggested You gave me
your address two times before, but I do not see it anywhere in the pm's
received from you. Please accept my apologies. I am wanting to
withdraw due to the US postal services not being cooperative with me and
trying to mail this package. A postage paid for over 100$ does not
make this deal seem feasible to myself. As for you I understand you
would be paying for the shipping as well and I would guess it is not
cheap for you either. I just do not value the items in the trade to be
worth that amount of shipping.
but please consider leaving positive feedback and we close the
transaction.
Cancel the transaction, while my items are
allready in the mail (and costed me $40 shipping).. that's not an
option, thus my reply:
mate
my games are
allready in the mail to you.. so there is no
way that you can break up this transaction, sorry
how can the
postage by 100$?
i've had bigger packages from the USA come for alot
less that that, so maybe you're using the wrong shipping?
he
goes to the post office to try again, with no luck and after some PM's I
get the following:
what the shipping address is (maybe I
got new workers everyother time), but they come up with $63.00 to ship. (
I could have just bought them from you for about that much)
understand you say the package on your end has already been shipped,
but this package is not leaving Michigan. I even included some bonus
goods for you. I am not going to be shipping this package. I accept
negative feedback if that is what you want to give, but i do not value
the goods you are shipping me at $123.00 there is not way. I asked for
you to leave me positive feedback and we close this transaction, but you
said you already shipped your item. That is fine. I have not been
given any tracking info and no customs paperwork numbers. Therefore, if
you have shipped your side of the trade, I WILL POST IT BACK TO YOU AS
"RETURN TO SENDER".
I
apologize, but I can not complete this deal as a trade needs two
equal sides that make both of us benefit.
Apparantly he
doesn't believe I've shipped the items, even tho i'm @ 100% feedback..
but that's not the biggest problem. Sending back the items is not an
option (they don't give that option on overseas shipping) and backing
out of the deal isn't either.. that's not the way you handle trades with
a fellow collector
I still want to finish the trade, so i offer
him to make a topic about the shipping.. so you guys can help out
my
phone:
can we make a topic about this on the forum?
maybe
someone here understands whats going wrong, cuz i'd like to finish the
deal
reply:
I'd like to keep it personal
message and I'd like to close the
deal..I've gone through enough trying to ship this to the
Netherlands.....make it personal on the forums and you have gone too
far...
sorry for the inconvenience...but this isnt gonna
happen...
since he's now clearly backing out and leaving
me with it.. i contacted Dangevin for advice
Dan and an other admin
offered to help with the shipping, but he was reluctant to take the
help. Even after sending him a print out of how to ship the item and
what it should cost, he didn't act
Xtincthed,
Again,
"I fully Apologize". The
trade was fine to me or I would have never agreed to it. Therefore
after about the fourth trip to the post office with your package....it
was no longer worth dealing with. I have put far more time and effort
into the mailing of this package than ever anticipated.
If you feel the need to make this public and publicize the matter at
hand then feel free, but don't expect me to leave you a positive
feedback. You say you have hsipped your end of the deal..Amazing! That
makes you the better party. I will mark it "Return to Sender" if and
when it ever shows up.
In the mean time, I do
apologize for the frustration. You must have been getting one hell of a
deal from me for you to put so much animosity into your emails. I
apologize, but this time the trade has not gone as planned.
Thank you for your time and efforts.
You will
get your package back if in fact it has been sent..."there is no need
for this to be public."
Chris
if
this was about a single game I wouldn't be too bothered.. but this was a
BOX full of pirates with an estimate value of $350+ (as stated in the original sales
topic)
At this point i'm starting to get frustrated and i
offer him a few options:
how
about you break up the parcel in a few bubble mailers then?
you
can send me the ps1 games in an envelop, same with the SNES games
you
can keep the NES games and replace them with money
shipping
bubble mailers should be easy, cheaper and we can both have what we want
(the nes games were a throw in anyway for me)
that will require
you to go to the post office once more, but i hope you can do that one
time for me.. so we can both have a satisfactory conclusion to this deal
thanks
after 2 days i get the following reply
I
refuse to ship at the overhead rates I am being charged. Sorry
that this deal did not happen, but I already said I would "Return to
sender" your goods...or pay you for them in the even they were
shipped..>Still nothing from your said shipped items....
Childish
as
it may be, but you can tell the mods whatever you want to tell them
all day long. I tried to settle this by leaving you positive feedback if
you did the same for me and we closed the deal..
Over and Over I
told you this deal wasnt working out for me..and the post office..
I
even told you I am done putting any more effort into this trade. I am
not scamming you. I am not a store.. I am not trying to rip you off.
Pm a mod and tell them whatever ficticous story you would like, I have
dealt with several individuals that are possibly mods in deals that have
gone amazing.
"I am not not shipping your goods because it is a
trade. If this were a sale I would have to refund you the money it
costs for the goods. I am not shipping cause it has become evident that
it is not worth the price in shipping alone. If you were buying these
goods would you pay the price for the shipping on top of the price for
the goods?"
I apologize for the last time.....but this deal will
not happen and can not happen. A mod can not make me ship you these
items...and you can not prove to me that you even shipped your goods, so
for the last time stop bothering me with a trade that is not
happening....
at this point we're allready 22 days in and I
just wanna get it over with:
oke
forget
about the trade, just paypal me the money for the
items + half shipping.. and i'm cool with that
you can even wait till
after the items arrived (which will be between now and 4 weeks) cuz i
don't think you're scamming me by purpose
by the way, you CAN"T
return the items to sender, that is not possible on overseas airmail..
would be too time consuming and expensive for UPS
so, do you
agree with that?
his reply:
you leave me
positive feedback now..and you just might have yourself a
more fair deal..!
trying to launder me out of my
money/games with a positive feedback?
my reply:
i
will leave the feedback when the deal is done, but you can trust me on
my feedback here, on ebay and my patience so far that i will leave
positive feedback
so don't worry about that
deal?
the
mood gets better after that
[qoute]
I appreciate your
patience with this trade,
Lets see where we
are when said package arrives...
Chris
after that we
talk a bit about playstation collecting, he wants to join the weblog
from our community and lightens up the mood.. he asks me how much he can
pay when the games arrive
my reply to that:
hey,
thanks
for the offer
the package contains:
- konami
entertainment
game cartridge (asian version) $25
- Ducktales $25
- 4 games in 1
$25
- 260 in 1 (board is loose in the cart) $25
- Ghostbusters
(fami) $10
- 42 in 1 (fami) $15
- 250 in 1 (fami) $15
- 190 in
1 (fami) $15
-all the gameboy pirates (minus magical chase) $10 a
piece (about 8 to 12 games)
shipping
i don't need the full refund because you were giving me a
good deal on some games aswel
let's put it at $240.. let me know
how you feel about that
about the weblog, it would be great to
have another active blogger, especially a NTSC one.. what would you like
to blog about?
regards
so even after all the stuff
that has been going on, i make him a fair deal cutting down the prices
(and i even added extra's)
his reply:
I'm one to
keep things right...as soon as this shows, I will pm you
again and we can go from there as I mentioned before...I just don't
wanna see anyone getting bad feelings out of this. As I know you have
every right for being upset with me, but again....let us set that
aside....Shipping from the us where I live is just stupid....
after
some chat about the weblog the games finally arrive:
My
mom just called like an hour ago saying they received a box from
out of the country this morning. They say the box looks fine, but I
have not seen what you sent me yet,,,,
How do I come through on my
end now?
CHris
my reply:
you can open it
and see the games inside ![]()
when you've seen the stuff you can paypal me the money..
or send me the games that we had a deal on before
after he
opened the box:
Well,
I must say the items are as you
described...some loose here
and there and one is even taken apart and wood glued back together? not
sure what happen there....either way..i tested the games and sure
enough they all seem to work except two of the gameboy games...no
biggie.
Now for my pay to you.???
How much do you want for
these? I felt better about getting them with the trade items, but now I
have realized I can not ship you the items you want at a descent
price...so I have opened the box. I can not put return to sender on it
anymore....
What is a fair price to pay for these items...I see
why pirate nes games are not real collectibel..all the games on them
kindsa stink...
Chris
i allready told him what the
costs would be, even with a discount. so i reply:
most
collectors like them cuz they weren't available in the USA and
sometimes contain some special games like the mario pirates etc
one
of
them was opened (i think i mentioned that) but you can glue / tape
it back together so it works
if it works for you, we could do a
partial trade and a partial paypal?
if sending a bubble mailer to me
works for you (without the trouble at the postoffice) then i'd like
atleast the PS1 games + the SNES games
or you can pay in full
with paypal
let me know what you like best
the mood
is still oke, even tho he again asks how much he should pay me
I'd
really like to finish this out for you...What can I pay you for
these...since you did ship them...I am not a reseller..they will just
sit with my other items that I only have one of..so a fair price and I
will paypal you the funds...
sorry this has gone so stupid...I
have never had such a hard time with a trade...
i reply
with the amount i stated before (and which he could have calculated from
the original thread
id prefer the games, but if you want
to do it with money i offered $240
for the lot
his reply:
theres no way..I might
as well have shipped you the games....I will
settle for no more than 100 for those carts as they are
pirates....
wow.. what? he allready didn't complete his
side of the trade, got a discount on the games.. and now doesn't want to
pay?.. effectively that would end me up with $60 for a whole BOX of
pirate games
before i could respond to the pm he sent this:
I
was looking over what I had tried to send to you and I wouldnt value
them at what you were asking for the famicom games ($240) thats why I
didnt ship them cause the over 100 dollars to ship was rediculous...you
did not send me gold....here in the states pirate games are rubbish..I
just tried to get rid of some of my games to someone who would enjoy
them......I may get $100 out of the games I was gonna ship you selling
them ...I was giving you a great deal........ and Im not selling the
games you sent me..id rather burn them....that is why I suggest $100 and
no more.....I just want this over...
burning my games..
paying $100.. he's holding my games for ransom now?
at this point
i'm stunned and pretty sick of the whole situation and reply:
dude..
seriously?
you have read the topic where you wanted the
games.. the prices were noted with the games
and we agreed on a trade
to equal value... to me those games you offered were of equal value
you
allready
backed out of sending me the games that you promised me the
deal.. and now you're backing out of paying me for the games you've
recieved?
there i no way i'm accepting $100 for this lot.. only
shipping costed me half of that!
i'll take it down to $225, just
because i wanna get this shit over
i offered ANOTHER
discount.. which i now regret.. he read the topic.. agreed with the
value in a trade and now wants to ship me off with $100 ?
his
reply:
Ok $200 and its over....You and I agree
to never speak of this
again...and we don't trade for anything in the future ever....
Send
me
your paypal and as Im burning these games I will send you a pic of
the fire....
Thanks,
Chris
this last PM blew
my mind.. I pm'd Dangevin who was allready up to date on the whole
situation.
Dan advised me to create this topic in order to call out
Caveman_games in public to the whole NA community.
I know I'm
taking the risk of never getting any money at all.. but I really don't
want anyone else to have to deal with this kind of behaviour in this
great community

That sucks Sjoerd. I tried walking him through the international shipping thing, but he said you guys worked it out. I guess not
yeah, thanks again for the help
I requested a tracking number from Xtintched. He could not supply me with a tracking number on the goods that he shipped....I pm'ed him several times. Thought we had this worked out. I did not threated to burn them just so he could not get them back..I said I would burn them cause thy were nothig of any significant value..THis is real mature of him....I offered to pay him what I would have gotten had I sold the games he was requesting....
This post should not have gone public...as I am not here to rip anyone off. I have traded with several people on Nintendoage and everything has gone fine...One time and this can not be resolved cause someone is dead set on me paying out way too much to ship to his country>? After several attempts at shipping the goods requested the final shipping price well over $100. I did not value my items I was shipping at over $100,. I do not value the items I have received at over $100.
I offered to just return his goods...he denied. I have offered to pay him a pay price not $250 dollars but a fair price....
Again this did not need to go public...
Negative feedback would have been enough...
I'm not taking sides, but every story always has two of them and no one other than the mods really has any business knowing. And with the 100s of transactions that go on here, mods only need to be involved as an absolute last resort... which sounds like what this situation has boiled down to.
Jonas, we were involved, and it didn't help, so this guy needed to be outed.
Okay sorry, I didn't read the wall of text. I apologize if it were a cut/dry situation where one party was clearly at fault.
You are the one who was asking me to help you with your website. If this went so wrong...Why would you ask for my help? "I have even offered to return the goods to sender" so this posting should be pulled....
you offered your help, which at that point i was willing to take because i still had the idea you were working with me on the deal. And any help is welcome
that changed with your last pms tho
Please pull this as no one has a problem with Caveman_games on the net, but this one individual who would not reason....
sorry man, i've been patient with you for over 40 days
The right thing isn't always easy, but it is still always right.
Chris it is clear that you got his stuff, he does not have your stuff and he is out $40 for shipping.
The right thing isn't always easy, but it is still always right.
Perfectly said.
Chris it is clear that you got his stuff, he does not have your stuff and he is out $40 for shipping.
The right thing isn't always easy, but it is still always right.
And I'm the untrustworthy one cause I told him I got his package. He did not pay for delivery confirmation, if I wanted to cheat him I could have just told him they never came....
I have offered to pay him a fair price...he can take it or leave it....the games are hacks...and some are even broken..as stated in the list of pm's he made public...
When I and others were ripped off by a seller who took our money and never shipped the items in December, you deleted my post AND made use wait for weeks before we could post our complaint in a seperate forum for deadbeat sellers. You did, however, attempt to help and mediate the disupute. Thanks you for that. But, seems like a bit of a double standard to me by allowing others to post publically. What are the rules or standards for this?
You continue to assert that it would be too expensive to ship to his country, but I went so far as to show you the exact values you could pay for this. Absolute worst-case scenario, if you couldn't get the parcel under 4 lbs, you fit it EASILY into a large Priority flat rate box for $50.
If the postal clerks have their heads up their asses, you sit on your butt and do Click-N-Ship online, get a discount for your Priority shipping, and just drop it off.
You made zero effort, even after you received his items, and now it seems like you're holding them hostage by reworking the deal, still not offering ANYTHING you initially agreed upon.
1
Again...this should be pulled..I offered eveything but to pay him his price for the goods.....HIs price was sky high...the shipping price was sky high..I have all the goods and can send them back at my expense....
Please pull this as no one has a problem with Caveman_games on the net, but this one individual who would not reason....

The great thing about making a trade is you can get items based on "emotional value" which can sometimes be more/less than actual value. In a case where you aren't going to ship your end of the deal, you have made a trade into a purchase. He already listed all of his prices in the original thread, so that should be honored (or any price that HE offers). You can't, rightfully, dictate a price that you are willing to pay.

Sjoerd worked this from the correct angle. We've been working with him for almost a month now, since he initially contacted us about problems with the deal. It was clear that he and Chris had reached an impasse, and he needed to go public.
With your dispute, you made the post before contacting us, which we do not allow. We worked things out, resolved that you had been scammed, and allowed a public post. You waited weeks, so did Sjoerd.
