Dan, thanks for update and clarification. That makes sense and works for me. I just wanted to make sure it we were all under the same rules. I am satisfied.
I've shipped to Sjoerd a couple of times (and other members in the Netherlands), and all I can say is that it is really REALLY confusing (and potentially frustrating) to fill out the USPS postal form. (As far as I can tell) the Netherlands is a small enough country that they have no provinces/states to divide up their postal codes. Last time I shipped a package to steven78, I had to PM him a couple times just to make sure what I was putting in the spots for street and city weren't totally backwards, and that was AFTER a trip to the PO to try and ship a box to him and the postal worker was a tool in refusing to help me out.
The other thing I think a lot of people don't realize is that shipping overseas is wicked expensive! I wonder if most people (myself included in this) actually check up on shipping prices before a deal is done. As Dan mentions above, even a flat rate box through USPS is $50, and doesn't even include tracking! The other shipping services (UPS, FedEx, DHL) are at least 3-4x more expensive than even that.
Reading through the wall of text, it still doesn't appear even to the end that Chris was trying to scam Sjoerd, but as others have mentioned there needs to be squaring up here. Not sure how that should be worked out, but as Chris clearly doesn't want to make another attempt to ship his items, the agreed upon values should at least be covered. If it takes some time and a couple of payments, do it, but you have to make it right.
Sjoerd, you're a cool dude, but this thread was made to allow Chris to answer publically for how this was handled and respond with how he intends to fix it so that everyone can see, and hopefully clear up his name. It would be my suggestion that you try not to post yourself in it anymore than you have. Let the mods post any more PM's he sends you if they feel it applicable. Otherwise, it looks like you're trying to just slam him or egg him on instead of find a resolution.

I agree that it doesn't appear that this was a malicious act (where he was purposely trying to scam him). I had something similar happen where I bought a monitor from someone online (not an online store). The guy ended up paying 60 or 70 dollars in shipping, and I paid him 75 for the monitor. Even though he didn't want to, he honored the deal. I have a great respect for that.
As I've said before, there is NOTHING worth your integrity. Do everything that you can to make something right, even if you lose out. I've had to eat some trades because of this. Anyway, I hope that this gets resolved. God bless!

you are right thanks for the advice, i edited my previous post
just want to get this over with to be honest 4-1 > 17-2 now
I am requesting a paypal address and restitution will be made.....no replies from the guy slamming me here.....
"I am not selling goods to make a living...I am merely removing items from my collection that I feel others gamers may want...remmeber the controller stickers that I had in my personal collection....?"
Again Im not here to cheat people...give me your paypal as I have asked for several times and its over...or are you ashamed that your slamming me may backfire cause you never righted the fact that you sent me some damaged games in your shipment? (oops did I just make that public?)
i have mentioned my paypal to you before, but i've pm'd it to you again in case you couldn't find it
yes, one out of the aprox 20+ games had a broken shell (which i mentioned) but that problem is covered imho in the $240 offer that i made you (topic value as calculated before in this topic was $340)
The for sale or trade thread clearly stated the condition of the games...what about the game that did not even work even though it looked normal...am I making that up or did I see that in the skew of pm's that you decided to make public....
Now you pull the postings here and I will send you over payment....
Case closed.......p.s. do not pm me for any future listings...thank you
Payment can be paid and payment can be disputed if this topic is not removed..you yourself can physically remove your postings....I'm not new here...simple request to solving something that could have been solved without being made public..
My feedback speaks for itself.....you need to remove your negative words here and while we are at it....leave a positive feedback for myself as well...
When those two are met , payment will be received...prompt payment is part of what I do.....
overall, it's better to just purchase and don't use "personal" so if you don't receive your goods, paypal or your bank can issue a charge back. Anyone shipping without tracking is playing with fire, paypal will side with the buyer all the time.
To close this out...I do apologize that You (Xtintched) felt the need to make it public...I hope this payment will work things out and I would still be glad to send the new Chrono Trigger Soundtrack to you at my expense....that was previously offered with other goods for your patience on this matter...
Why don't you go ahead and transfer the money? I haven't made out any deals with Xtinched yet and I can't say how good as a seller he is, but I doubt he would act like a douche and keep this thread alive only to spread your name in a bad manner.
I once traded some games with a collector from the US too and I was very angry at the high shipping rates the post offices told me. But because I was respecting my trading partner, I shipped my stuff overseas, even tough I lost more than I got. That's why I am always asking for shipping rates in the first place.
Payment can be paid and payment can be disputed if this topic is not removed..you yourself can physically remove your postings....I'm not new here...simple request to solving something that could have been solved without being made public..
You sending payment has nothing to do with this topic remaining. Not only can I undelete it, I can unedit comments. Making threats here is only going to get you banned, so I suggest you quit while you're ahead.
I really don't like to be involved in these type of things, but I am curious why Caveman_games is so insistent on this not being public? Simply make right on the deal you previously agreed on and there is no longer an issue. Regardless of whether you feel you are getting the short end of the stick after the fact, once you've made a deal and one party has sent out their end of said deal you can't just "back out" it is not ethical, we are a (relatively speaking) small and tight knit group of collectors, and issues such as this really shouldn't need to occur.
Unless the facts are being misstated by Xtincthed, I think this can be solved in one of the THREE options he was generous enough to provide:
1. Send the games you promoised him. You can look in to cheaper shipping methods (which he also provided) but this is the deal that was made, and should be adhered to.
2. Send back his entire package that was sent to you. In the same condition in which it was received.
3. Pay him the comparable value he had stated in his original thread. Whether or not you agree what what he perceives the value of these games to be or not is irrelevant. If I decide my copy of Duck Hunt is worth $500, then that is what it is worth to me. If you want to pay it cool, and if not that's fine too, but it's not up to you to determine the asking price of someone else's possesions, especially once you have already receieved them and have not offered up your end of the deal.
On a final note, this whole game burning thing just comes across as very immature. I highly doubt anyone at a site like this is ever going to burn any video games, so why make empty threats?
I'm not involved in this, but my 2 cents...make good on the transaction and don't deal with each other again after that. The longer you allow this to go on you are hurting your reputation at NA. The reputation earned by 100 good transactions can be ruined by 1 really bad one. You need to make this right.
My feedback speaks for itself.....you need to remove your negative words here and while we are at it....leave a positive feedback for myself as well...
When those two are met , payment will be received...prompt payment is part of what I do.....
Why would he leave you positive feedback? You would be so lucky to escape with NO feedback left. Extorting feedback for payment that you rightfully owe isn't helping your cause.

Actually I do plan on destroying a bunch of my common NES carts that I can't sell individually, muahahahahhaa.

Dude but out!! You have no business in this thread. Neither do I for that matter but I am calling you out.
You have been here no time and think you know better than long time and highly respected (which I do not consider myself) members and collectors. You even went as far as to call people names which is childish and in bad taste. We do not do those things here.
Even this thread shows how things are worked out here in the extreme without name calling. And these witty (not) little tidbits you are sharing are nothing new to us. We know these things already.
Mods: sorry but yall know me I will say what others are thinking and take the smiting

No pun intended?
