  • Im not going to comment on the trade itself because it doesn't involve me but as far as the posting of this thread goes. I agree with it. I think it is a necessity. Nothing against you Chris, ive never dealt with you i dont have any problems but ive been on his side of the situation and it isnt cool. When i got my SNES kiosk from Nofriendo it was pretty close to the same situation. I contacted mods asking what i should do. after so much time past and tried different things i was told to make it public. Its not something that should be taken personal, yeah i mean i wouldnt be happy about it either, but sometimes it just needs to be. Take it as you will but its not something you need to hold against him. He did the right thing
  • I have not been on this site very long, but from my very first transaction I noticed a higher level of mutual trust between members than I could have imagined. Half the time I don't even look at someone's feedback, because I figure if they're on this site they're a pretty good person. I can't imagine someone threatening to burn items because they made a mistake and would not go through with a deal they thought wasn't worth it anymore...This whole thread is a bit of an eye opener and it's pretty obvious who is in the wrong and how embarrassing the whole situation is...

  • Sorry you're having to deal with this junk Sjoerd. It sucks to think someone here would screw over another member of this community but I guess it does happen (and before I hear he's not, read the wall of text, getting games, not sending his side, dicking around about the prices that were listed when he made the deal, I count that as screwing over). I appreciate that this did end up going public, if only so I know not to ever deal with Caveman_games.

Makes me even more thankful for all the good transactions I've had here with great members.

  • Reading this thread makes me not wanna deal with Caveman_Games...I would think that guy is some kind of Tool or something.....although I did notice he never made all the other side of the story pm's public....casue he already tried to close this with the guy...and he kept it private...that is why....all those positive feedbacks from members of Nintendoage must have just been bogus deals?

Might as well, just ban this tool from the great community of Nintendoage.....as it has already been suggested anyways...

Ok Chris come on dude.  If you make this right things can move on.  But if you just keep on antagonizing people, especially after DAIN the owner of this place, has warned you twice you are just asking to be banned.  Nothing good comes of this.  Just make it right, bury it, and let's all move on.

  • Epic implosion is epic.

    Same here.

I just  made my first deal here on NA and I didnt think twice about getting ripped off.

I concur.  kidding, well kind of

If you would have made it right as soon as this went public, no one would have thought twice about this.  All your comments and accusations of being attacked are over the top, you sir are not the victim.  Just make the deal good, and let it go.

  • Chris... you still have a chance to right this whole wrong and for people to move on. You getting banned or anything, is going to be completely dependent on how this situation ends.
  • I just went back and read the wall of text... absolutely mind blowing.

Maybe some of us USA guys can now get some slack for not shipping internationally. Totally not worth it and I will never send a package overseas because no amount of money is worth the hassle or worth your reputation if something goes wrong.

Looks like he underestimated shipping on his behalf which is entirely his fault. He should have paid up the money and learned a lesson.
  • as said before, this whole deal is over for me as soon as Chris sends the money to my paypal.

thats the only thing you have to do to make it right for my account
  • Wow....

I know it sucks, but Chris, you've gotta just bite the bullet and make things right on your end. God knows I've listed things as XX dollars shipped, and regretted it when I found out that shipping was far higher than I thought. That's all part of the game, and it's my fault for not checking shipping prices before entering into a binding contract (a NA Transaction)

Honestly, at $240 you are getting a spankin' deal. Sjoerd is being very generous... Plus, the longer this thread goes on, the more your good reputation is tarnished, bro. Just take the deal and get it over with.
  • Guys, he's the victim!!!

I know this is sarcasm, but sadly enough he is a victim, albeit to a much lesser degree.

He agreed to shipping and probably assumed it'd be like $25 or so (his own fault).  Now he's taking a $75 hit if it costs $100 to ship.

Sucks for him, but he needs to make good on his end of the deal and learn the lesson the hard way.
  • ^I'm guessing you probably didn't read all the posts, but dangevin pointed out the stuff could be sent in a Priority flat-rate for $50.

Chris sounds like he's got hurt feelings over the publicity and lack of resolution, and the backlash of other members isn't helping. A lot of people are posting a lot of non-constructive comments (which of course happens on forums), but I'd be getting equally upset if I was him. That's no excuse not to finish this up and make it right, if it hasn't been done already, but cut the guy some slack. We've had some members on here pull shenanigans and just drop off the map. Chris is still here and he's still posting, but he's probably just upset now that people are lined up at the whipping post. That's more than can be said for a lot of the guys that have caused deals to go south in the last year.

The thing about it though, he wanted 'his' resolution, not one that was fair.  He offered $100 for $340 worth of stuff (if I'm reading it right), after weeks of not holding up his end of the deal.  He absolutely should make it right, not continue to ask for this and that before he sends his side of their deal.  It's not like he couldn't do it and end this, but he keeps jumping in here and feeding the trolls (myself included).  Until he pays how is he any better than the ones that dropped off the map?

He doesn't have to ship anything at this point. Xtincthed just wants a portion of the value of what he shipped to him paid via paypal. If anyone is taking a hit its Xtincthed as he paid to ship at full value and is getting partial value (if he ever pays up) in return.

  • To the new members here:

This is and extreme occurance taken to the max. Please do not let one thread or post make you not want to trade here. This is extremely rare!!

99.9% of trades here are perfect. We really are a great place to be.

You misread me.  I'm referring to resolution in regards to this thread and its publicity, not their deal.

^Also, Bella is correct.  New members should actually take comfort from the fact that threads like this are allowed to occur.  When things go poorly, though extremely rare, there is always a reckoning.  The guys who run the place take a lot of care and pride to make sure this is a place where we can be comfortable in doing business with each other.

So 5 pirates, Ducktales and an Asian cart are worth $240 now?

Yeah he's "getting partial value", but in this case, he's getting partial value of an inflated price.

If I sell my Super Mario / Duck Hunt cart for $20 but the buyer backs out and I have to sell it off for $3, then I didn't really lose $17....

    Sorry, just being honest.

EDIT to add: HOLY SMOKES, I'm just now reading what Caveman actually offered up in the trade!!!  No way in hell are the two sides even remotely close in terms of value.
  • ^Dude, you really need to read closer...

    - konami entertainment game cartridge (asian version) $25
    - Ducktales $25
    - 4 games in 1 $25
    - 260 in 1 (board is loose in the cart) $25

    - Ghostbusters (fami) $10
    - 42 in 1 (fami) $15
    - 250 in 1 (fami) $15
    - 190 in 1 (fami) $15

-all the gameboy pirates (minus magical chase)

x3 what Bella said as well.

Okay so maybe it wasn't completely one sided like I initially thought, but still?  A bunch of pirates for some high valued Black Label PS1 RPGs and SNES cart only RPGs?

The pirates would have sat on NA for awhile until price drops came.  Maybe sell a few here and there but no way in hell they all would have sold.

So by your logic I could buy your precious DK Jr math for $600 and then decide its worth $200 after dicking you over for a month and then threatening not to pay at all? I dont think its worth that so that justifies my actions Sorry dude. A deal is a deal. He didn't even need to offer alternatives. Your logic is flawed regardless of spin.

Whether they are inflated or not is irrelevant as they both agreed to the trade. Chris is a smart dude and knows the value of his stuff, so obviously he felt the trade was fair (before shipping). One end held it up, the other didn't. He refuses to ship which is fine so how do you propose he be compensated? By making up your own values after the fact and paypaling that amount?  Yeah, he tried that already too..

You were talking about CG shipping stuff and being a victim which went out the window a long time ago when he refused to ship.

xtiinched already sent the items + shipping cost which I believe was $40.

I have traded with both these guys more than once and I truly hate to see crap like this happen. Total mess.

Where did I say that Caveman games is in the right?  Caveman either owes him his games, owes him the games for trade, or owes him cash.

OP dropped his price by his own will.  If his price were already very fair and he thought he could sell them right back at that price, then he'd demand the return instead of dropping price by $100...

i dropped the price because i wanted to make chris a fair deal and get this situation over with and because he was giving me a good trade (that eventualy didn't come trough)
not because i didn't value my games
