clearly he has made his resolve and has no intention to do anything about this.

    HAHAHAHA!

hey port, i had a good laugh at your posts lipping dutch on GS.

  • Dude, I fucking hate that guy. You know, disagreeing with the ways things are done is one thing. Disagreeing with the ways things are done and being a complete cunt about it is another. Seriously, he won't deal with anyone who has an account here. What kind of twisted logic is that? I want to stick my big toe in his asshole every time he opens his mouth. He can see how that feels because that's how I feel every time I see one of his horrible, english mangling posts.

I completely agree. He is sooooooo bitter about not being on here it isn't even funny. Well, I guess it is kinda funny, cause he is such a wining douche bag and I can here him crying out for friendship in every post. LOL

  • Wow just read this entire thread...crazy stuff! Sorry you had to deal with this, Xtincthed!

Also, that's hilarious Caveman_Games changed his name.
  • Hiding from your problems isn't going to solve anything, you know. Be a man, do the right thing.
  • Sorry to hear about this situation :\ From my understanding, Caveman_games mostly wanted to cancel the trade because he thought that shipping to the Netherlands would be cheaper.

I know that it can sucks to have to pay more in shipping than it was first expected to cost and i think that in some cases it might be fair to cancel a trade, but since Xtincthed had already sent the package, i guess that it was too late to cancel the trade without having to return the games. And since it wasnt possible to do "return to sender", i think that the easiest solution and the most fair solution would have been that Caveman_games either shipped his games eventhough that the shipping might have been more than what he first expected or that he payed for the games, at least in my opinion image

Hopefully a similar case like this will be solved easier in the future image I hope that all worked out ok in the end at least? image How did this situation turn out in the end by the way?

I guess that all what i said has already basicly been said earlier in this thread, but i just wanted to say my opinion and my thoughs about this situation anyway image

I did not threated to burn them just so he could not get them back..I said I would burn them cause thy were nothig of any significant value..THis is real mature of him....I offered to pay him what I would have gotten had I sold the games he was requesting....

I would guess that it was just an honest misinterpretation by Xtincthed that he i thought that you threatened to burn the game. Maybe he thought that you would burn the game and not pay for the games? But i dont know, i am just guessing.

I know this is sarcasm, but sadly enough he is a victim, albeit to a much lesser degree.

He agreed to shipping and probably assumed it'd be like $25 or so (his own fault).  Now he's taking a $75 hit if it costs $100 to ship.

Sucks for him, but he needs to make good on his end of the deal and learn the lesson the hard way.

I would guess that this is what happend indeed, that he (Caveman_games) thought that it would be cheaper to ship something to The Netherlands, but then found out later on that it was more expencive to ship the package than he first though.

But there is one thing that i wonder about, when Caveman_games was told that it was cheaper than 100 US dollars to ship the package, what did he reply to this? Did he still think that the shipping was too expencive and he still didnt want to ship it because of the shipping costs? Maybe this has already been answered, but i havnt read through all the posts, i am sorry.

    EDIT: I added some text.

  • ^ His argument was that his local PO would not let him ship for under $150 or whatever he stated. He mentioned that he went on four separate occasions.

At one point I'd listed an entire schedule of fees for a parcel of his size, and even the most expensive ones didn't approach what he said the USPS quote he got in person was.

He ignored this information and refused to ship under any circumstances at that point.
  • dangevin: Ah ok, i see. Thanks for the answer to my question! image

  • so... has nothing changed in the last two days?
  • If it has, we won't have confirmation from Xtincthed until he gets back into town. He said he was going to be gone for a bit. Just have to wait and see, unless Chris wants to publically post a resolution.

Please pull this as no one has a problem with Caveman_games on the net, but this one individual who would not reason....

Wow, sucks for both parties.. But unfortunately, should have checked everything before making the deal.  This post I quoted is the only one that throws me for a loop... could just be me, but isnt he offering to send them all back at his own expense, yet he cant ship his items?  Im confused.  Either way, I hope you both get it figured out and we can all just move on and keep trading and buying and selling.
  • well since gamecore is not happening i have this extra 1000 bucks burnin' a hole in my pocket. I will fly down and pick this shit up and send it to x. PM me Chris and we can work it out.
  • For the record. I just shipped a 30 lb box to the Netherlands for $115.00 about 5 days ago.

    Quoted for hilarity.

Dutch was one of the first people I ever saw banned here in very public fashion and I've seen the way he acts elsewhere too. He's pathetic.

  • People need to do their research first. Once you commit to a trade with shipping included you are responsible for the costs. So don't agree until you know your costs or at least have an estimate that worst case scenario. Maybe build it into the agreement, saying once costs are confirmed for shipping and everyone is happy we will hit the agree button.

Too many times I have heard excuses such as "the post office said it's not the right format, not the full address, didn't know what you meant, insurance doesn't exist, tracking doesn't exist". You either have a misinformed clerk or you are scamming. My last experience was I was being scammed. I am not saying this is the case here, but it is a perfect cover.

We have online tools that calculate everything from our computer! If you get to a post office and they have no idea, ask another clerk or go to another post office. It may be a hassle but it could save you Hundreds or a headache.

The worst thing I see is when people say they will never ship international anymore or it always take at least 6 months and you can't track it, insure it etc.

Bullshit. If it took 6 months for your quickest postage ever you either a) A are stingy bastard who pays for Seamail every time and expects it to arrive within weeks. It won't. 3 Months is usually quick. or B) It is held up in customs/lost.

When shipping overseas you should always take these things into account.

    1. How much is my item/trade worth?

    2. How much is my contribution to shipping worth?

    3. What are my shipping options that suit my circumstance?

You have some options that should ALWAYS be used in an International trade no matter what.

    - Always use tracking, especially online so that both parties can get verification.

    - Always use Insurance on high priced items. Ask the person and recommend it. If they decline then they will still chuck a fit and blame you, so try include it in your trade price. It isn't a large value except when talking $1,000's. In which case insurance is a no brainer.

    - Always use AT LEAST "Airmail". Using anything less will take at least 3 Months if not more. It is not worth the hassle for both parties.

    - If your item is valuable always use a courier instead of USPS. They will usually have their own means of data recording, shipping and service that is "generally" at a higher standard than a post office. Most provide online tracking built into the price.  Hate UPS? There are many to choose from that even have depo's in many countries. Fed Ex, EMS, DHL etc.
    - Send valuable items EXPRESS. These go mainly on direct routes. All Planes and less road means less room for error.

    - ALWAYS PUT A PHONE NUMBER OF YOURSELF AND THE RECEIVER ON THE PACKAGE.

    - Use delivery confirmation if you have to - you will be notified when the item is picked up.

    - Use delivery signature if you are really worried. The person has to SIGN to say he has it.

    - ALWAYS be prepared for customs. It is a GREAT idea to go to your customs website and check what items are allowed and what items are not allowed to that country. Some countries have special regulations for VIDEO GAMES, where permits are even required.! Do your research.

    - If customs becomes involved hopefully you noted your phone number and the receivers phone number so contact can be made easily.

    - If your item is being held up, use your tracking number to find out if it is indeed sitting in customs, rather than sitting on your ass wondering "derrr 6 months is loooong".

Sorry. But it annoys me how some simple steps can resolve the most crazy problems. I know there are many other factors involved, but you can reduce your chance of things going wrong by following some simple steps. There is a bunch more to write but I think I have said enough for tonight.

It is a bit OT but still worth noting.

  • Dramtic, painful, funny, ridiculous... one of the most intriguing car crashes of a thread I've ever read on NA.

Just to clarify a couple things here:

    - From the United States, if you are using the Postal Service, their only services which offer tracking automatically are Express Mail International and Global Express Guaranteed (the more expensive option).  As you will note by their names, they are both in the Express category.  This means that First Class International, Priority Mail, and any other option through USPS internationally has no automatic tracking.  With Priority Mail, you can purchase tracking online when paying for your postage as long as it is not a Flat Rate Box or Envelope.  I have had (multiple times) different Postal clerks tell me tracking is not purchasable at the counter for anything but Express.  First Class and Surface (sea-mail), and to re-emphasize, Flat Rate Priority Boxes/Envelopes, have NO tracking options whatsoever!

    - The part about not using USPS for valuable things is little bit misleading.  EMS is a service agreement between countries, not a form of shipping, per se.  Both USPS Express options are EMS, and FedEx, DHL, and UPS offer EMS services.  In fact, when you use USPS Express Global Guaranteed, they will mostl likely put it on a FedEx plane to get to your country of destination.  So to say the other services are better is a little misleading.  They are just more expensive because they deal with a smaller volume of packages, and thus have to charge more.  They're still staffed by people who can mess up your package just as bad as USPS.  The point is that if it's valuable, insure it, don't put your automatic trust in the service you choose.

    - A point that was not mentioned that should be: some people think that because there is a number on the various customs forms that need to be filled out, that must be some sort of tracking number.  This is NOT true.  Tracking and customs are different numbers, and always on different forms!
  • Thanks for clearing those points up. We do have more tracking options here in Australia than the US it seems.

I do agree that the express services from usps can be just as good as fed ex, ups etc but generally with a courier from "my" experience is better overall. The dealing with smaller volumes of mail you pointed out also can go in your favour, less chance to get lost, more focus etc.

The last point you make is a big one, So many people make this mistake!
  • just got back

no money in my paypal, 1 pm stating that he wants to return my games

kindly asked him again to just paypal me the money and get this over with

thanks for the support guys image
  • he should just return them then and carry the hall of shame icon with pride.
  • sorry for butting in, but I'm going to state the obvious. If he's going to go through the hassle of returning your games, why not just put in his stuff he was originally going to trade for in that box?

I think I read somewhere, that all the stuff is wet or something?  Anyway, I think it's obvious he is just backing out of the trade.
  • if he just sends the games back, at least it won't be a horrible end. but, it's probably going to cost to ship them as well. it'd probably just be best to send the original trade or paypal. but, anything is better than nothing.
  • Its quite possible that he already sold off the stuff he was supposed to send in trade as well. It may have even been a motivator in reneging on the trade to begin with.

    Just saying...
  • i don't know what he is doing to be honest

I just hope he holds up to his promise that he was gonna paypal me the money.. but that doesn't seem very realistic at this moment
  • It looks like he's still calling his own shots, now not even making good on the offer of money and just telling him he's going to undo the trade and send his stuff back.

    Does anyone live in Michigan?
  • This is crazy! Give him the money back chris!
