i just received an email about me bidding on bravehearts battletoads/double dragon CIB, has this ever happened to you before? Did you actually do a deal and did it turn out ok? he has 100% positive feedback and a feedback score of 190, but none as a seller. What should i do?

  • the only time I ever did that, off ebay. I got scammed by a guy with 1000+ poss. feedback. If you do the deal I'd make him set up a BIN auction for you and do the deal through ebay. At least you have the opportunity to screw with his feedback if he scams you. Not a lot of protection but at least you can feel a bit better leaving the neg feedback.
  • I too bid on this and got the same email. He was asking a good price but couldnt provide pics and couldnt take paypal. so i definately backed out
  • I definitely would also do what Bryan said. I've been scammed twice by sellers with excellent feedback because of dealing outside of eBay.

how much was he asking for it in your email?
  • it was either $15 or $20. cant remember which
  • DEFINITLY a scam.  I get messages like this quite frequently.
  • I get these 3-4 times a week at least. Funny how braveheart living in WA wants me to use Western Union to send payment to Romania. When I asked the fake braveheart why he was in Romania he said he was there for family problems. Then the real braveheart sends me an instant message 10 mins. later. Gotta love a scammer.

  • A**Hole trying to ruin the good name of Sir William Wallace! This Romania thing is getting pretty bad. Don't forget this is the same piece of crap that someone posted that long conversation thread about going back and forth with the Romanian supposed seller.

The moral of the story kids is NEVER buy it if it isn't through eBay or NA or someone you know... and then watch out for Hounders at every turn. This is one reason why I never do side deals on eBay. Cause I always figure if I offer seller money and they pull the auction to sell to me they can take my money and never send it. I have no protection... cause we all know PayPal sucks ass and never helps!

Gonna have to go 1314 AD on his arse, got the inspiration and the weapon to do it with too....
  • the thing that threw me off is i've never gotten a message like this, only the ones saying the high bidder didn't pay and they were offering it to me. Looks like i'll pass on this one, not worth the risk.
  • Dude anytime the seller is from Romania or something like that do you even need to think about it? Might as well be an invite to a Slovakian Hostel!!
  • When i looked up his ebay id it says his location is PA, United States.

i personally like the second one wayyy better
  • I was in Slovakia for 10 days this summer, and you guys don't even want to know how often the Hostel movie came up in conversations with Slovakian citizens....apparently a lot of (potential) tourists took it serious and actually thought Slovakia was very backwards like that. image
