Item redirected to recipient's new address...

Hey everyone,

as the title says I've been having some trouble returning an item (through paypal, a dispute I won). I recently, well weeks ago sent back an item I purhcased and was displeased to the seller for a refund. Paypal supplied me with the sellers address etc, and I simply and properly shipped it back to him.

Here's the overall picture of how long it has taken,

2010/02/0314:18International shipment has arrived in the destination country

2010/01/2919:50EDMONTONItem processed at postal facility

That is where it stops. Sadly for over two full weeks, it has not changed. I am beginning to get worried, I never have had this problem before. I tried to contact the seller two days ago, and have recieved no response.

Has anyone else experienced this before? Or any tips for me?

Thanks again.

  • Oh Dear god no.

    It got worse.

I just got this from paypal,

"The tracking information you provided was invalid and we were unable to

confirm delivery of the item associated with this claim. As a result, the

case is now considered closed and we are unable to process a refund.

We encourage you to work directly with the seller to find a resolution.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,

    Protection Services Department"

NO! Wow I am stumped. This was over 400 dollars. I dont get the refund and the package is MIA? Is there anything I can do? Do I go bitch at Canada Post? I did buy out insurance for 400 dollars worth??

    Please somebody help me.
  • Sorry to hear. That's the magic of Paypal. The buyer wields ultimate power if there's one broken link in the tracking chain.

Shame it was for so much image

You'll have to prove the item's value but yes you can file a claim. Hopefully it was from an auction so you can prove value?
  • Ya, shipping the package, I have the carbon copy of the value I put down, as well as the 400 dollar insurance I bought for Canada to US shipping. Also it was on ebay for additional proof. I am going to call Canada post, and basically give them an ultimatum. Since it is still redirected for close to 18 days, I consider that lost, so I want my money through insurance, otherwise if they act like they know where it is, I want it back. I hate getting angry on the phone, but I guess I have no choice to be stern.
