what's an RCR? i guess River City Ransom could possibly be considered an Action-RPG, but even that's a stretch. i usually don't like brawlers, but it's interesting what they did with it.

Obviously nothing, I made it up, its an acronym: River City Ransom
Much like VCR: Video Cassette Recorder
Most people are confused on what RPG games are mostly because of Zelda, an action game, which isn't an RPG,
I just like stating the obvious so it's out there for people to read, because I know we could all use the practice.
Thank you for updating the first post, Austin. Please let this be the only thread you ever post.
But, to answer your question....
I started out at 30 cartridges myself a year ago, and now I'm close to 200. You will get up there quick, too.
I second this.
I only hit collecting hard core like a year ago and I accumulated this stuff since then. It's a lot of work, but if you stick with it, you'll come out with some sweet swag.
Full set of 768 + some variants + Sachens. Counting everything from every region + homebrews, over 1000.
your full set of 768, is that everything without including the 7 aladdin variants?, my list is 775 with the 7 aladdin's, just wondering if are lists are in sync?

I was in a hurry and I wasn't sure what the generally accepted number is so I looked at the FAQ and just posted that value which was 768. (On my own, I would have said 778)

I see, just for the hell of it, could you send me your list of the 101 games you count beyond the licensed 677?, if it would be too much list reconfiguring on your end, don't worry about it, but I'm always curious of others lists that have a higher number than mine
According to my rfgeneration profile, 748 NES carts not including protos (60 give or take) or other random stuff like homebrews, repros, and things like famicombox games.
I'm at about 320 NES games. About 10 are unlicensed. Around 550 total for all other consoles (PS1-3, Wii, Cube, Gameboy Virtual Boy, SNES, N64, Atari, etc)
Comments
Though not really an RPG, but more of an action adventure/beatup - River City Ransom on the NES
SNES has many favourites for me.
Seriously River City Ransom? that's an RCR not an RPG
On second thought, Ten Yard Fight is my favorite RPG, I try to average 10 rards per game
NES - 354
SNES - 169
N64 - 92
Sega Saturn - 25
PS1 - 133
Gamecube - 32
Sega Genesis - 132
Plus lots of misc. games for other systems I don't feel like listing.

Anyway, I have about 60 NES games. Feels like a big collection to me!

I had actually NEVER counted my games before, weird. I've got 103 games in my personal collection.
and around another 500 for sale.
