This sounds like something that requires further research...two days until my computer arrives, then I'll be researching a ton of shit like this!

Good luck man. As far as I know, I've just summarized all the fruits of past research attempts, minus Myriad's HQ being in Texas. image

I have my ways.  Besides, even if it's a fruitless search, at least I'll be able to do something during my bouts of insomnia image

It sounds like you didn't get the bites that you were looking for in your auction, and now you're trying to kiss everyone's ass because you realized that the people of NA are your target audience.

Well yeah i post about myriad because that was the main reason i started posting. Before i was just a lurker. if your annoyed then stop reading it.  I did this thread because the other one was locked. I wanted to get the story out because people were making stuff up and stretching the truth, and making me sound like a dick when im not.

Ya and u also asked everybody on the site what it was worth and pretty much the consensus by everyone that chimbed in was $1500-2k.Why even ask if u thought it was worth more??

Even on this site ive had different opinions through private messages. You dont have to buy it. Why not make sure im getting a good return on an expensive game? just because you are a poster on this site doesnt mean you are the authority of how much the game cost. I was asking for an opinions.

I don't want to buy it but i just don't understand why u keep making threads about it??If it has not sold on here yet or ebay that really should be telling u something. Its probably ur best bet to just keep relisting this on ebay because u will probably have a better chance of getting the $3000-$3500 on ebay because i really don't c anybody on the site paying more then the $2300 offer.Good luck with the sale though.

  • If I was going CIB and had the money to buy this, I'd pay $3K+ for a matched Myraid no problem. Just saying.

i started a thread because the other one was locked. People were misinformed and i wanted to make sure people knew the story. This is my last thread on myriad. people throwing tantrums over this got the last one shut down i guess.

Like I said before, if it's worth more then just sell it for more. No need to keep creating threads about it at this point.

Why should they be offended by his auction?  There's nothing to be offended about.  He has the item, he wants to sell it, he can list it at whatever price he wants.  He also put an offer button, so really, it would give him an idea of what it really IS worth.  Frankly, it's tough to say what it's worth, the game itself is second only to Stadium Events in terms of rarity (which is debatable, I think there's more SE's floating around than Myraids), and he's got a matched copy, which don't turn up too often (most CIBs that become available are pieced together).  I'm offended by how our community treats the OP, not by the OP's posts or his auction.

Why would they be offended?  Because he asked the value of the game, and then went on to list it at literally 10x what he was quoted.  He then went on to bash NA as a site and accuse everyone of wanting to get the game cheap.

Again, I could really give two shits if he decides to shove it up his ass for all I care.  It's his to do as he pleases.  Having another thread dedicated to this game and it's owner is starting to get old though.

You're offended, he's offended, and everyone on NA's offended.  It's official: We're all offended.

Relist the item on eBay, and good luck with the sale.  Get what you can for it and we'll all be glad when you do.

  • this is the stupidest argument in the world. either sell the fucking thing or don't. to be honest you were pretty dumb to pass up the $2300 bucks for this.

    and wiz,

myriad was pretty much only sold to the rental market (from what we know). A couple of sealed copies were found in the Katz Kunkel Worley collection and sold to collectors (portnoyd, jeff d and one other). Bronty has one of the sealed now (jeff ds). Speedy NES sold his to Dain, who got it graded and sold it to... name escapes me.... Dave still has his.

Numerous have been found in Texas as they were supposedly sold out of what is now a bakery in Humble TX (formaly an area known as Kingwood). Jason Smith and I have come to the conclusion that this (the name Myriad and the packaging) was the last ditch effort to market these by Caltron/NTDEC/MegaSoft because of hot water of being in the unlicensed markert for the NES during the era. That is however speculation and not fact. We did find a company registered in Houston TX that is now defunct called MEGASOFT that was around during this era and didn't renew after 1993/94-ish.

As it is, something is worth only what someone is willing to pay. I am here, humbling stating, you are DUMB as to not take the 2300 offer. Please leave.

What the fuck does that have to do with the price of tea in China?

I'm pretty sure Blowback doesn't have it...pretty sure that's the screen name of my buddy Tony, who's wife would never allow that type of a purchase image

Anyway, good info, and I agree - it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.

Aaron mentioned that nobody would pay that much for one.  I said I would.  That's all I was getting at.

  • so im not welcome on a public forum according to qix?? i cant sell my stuff here according to qix?
  • that like I said before the price comes down to whether the seller wants to sell or the buyer wants to buy. To the right buyer he easily gets a better offer. If he's got to liquidate quick, yeah 2k is all he's getting. But I don't think its a stretch to imagine a motivated buyer at 3k+. Just doesn't seem like there's one out there right now. All I know for sure is I'm tired of reading about it image
  • guess its not blowback image, regardless, Dain doesn't own it now and made a pretty decent offer on something like this.

Sealed and a LEGIT seal at this on this title makes it something completely different than a complete matching set.

you can try, but your success rate continues to eat ass.
  • I'm going to apologize for calling you a toolbag, I was trolling, and that doesn't make me any better than anyone else. Please don't bash this community any more though, it's a good place full of people that do enjoy the hobby (I don't think most people were trying to snag your CIB Myriad for a 'steal'), it bothers more than a few of us when people crap on it, doesn't justify me adding to the fire.

Sorry dude, good luck with your sale.
  • Man, to be honest, you should have taken the $2300. There are only a few people who can drop that kind of cash on a game, and for you to hold out for a few hundred dollars more is damn greedy. Bronty is a sealed collector and I sold him my FFF Athletic World VGA 85 for $800. I had an offer for $1200 but the seller back out due to a cutback at his job. Could I have waited around and tried to get a few hundred more? Sure! But if you don't have much in the game ($75 in my case), whats a couple hundred bucks? I'm much happier to say I had a piece of his collection, than trying to squeeze a couple hundred bucks more out and wait forever to do it. A $2300 profit is a good profit and you should feel pretty damn greedy for not taking it. Stuff like that will bite you in the ass...I doubt you get that high of an offer again.

A: I really cant go that low... If your source for price is nintendo age then your being misinformed. They are saying 1500-1700 because they want it cheap. A matching sealed damaged vga graded 70 got over 6k. This is not sealed but it is matching and atleast deserves 3k.... Why do u think so many nintendo agers want the item for 1500 and 1600... Because thats a steal. Got dozen or more people lined up for 1500-2500.... I will leave your offer on the table but i want to take more offers... Thanks.

You still come off like a toolbag.

Yea you just told us that the collectors who have been collecting for 10+ years are wrong about their prices while you just joined. Are you saying were wrong about our main hobby that we pay attention to every detail? Its like telling a priest that hes wrong about what hes preaching when you aren't even the same religion! Just seems like a toolbag.

Ive been offered more. i apologized. Im sorry i cant just trust anyone saying its worth this much. Ive been a lurker here for awhile, and yes you are all knowledgeable. Ive had people here tell me its worth more too. along with other research and sites ive visited. Yeah its my opinion. If you dont want to pay for it dont pay for it. Why am i a toolbag for that?

Because for the time I have been here every member I have dealt with is honest and given me a fair price. I am not trying be a douche bag, but see everyone is entitled to their own opinion and if you wan a certain price for it than great I have nothing against you. But when you said we were trying to get a "steal" from you. That kinda ticked me off. Just because people have different opinions on prices doesn't mean there trying to rip you off! It's a very rare game and no one knows the exact price. So who are you to say who is ripping off who?

Once again I am not trying to be mean it just ticked me off a little.

i apologized for this already. But again, you are a stranger to me. I dont know who you are. Ive gotten mixed messages on this game from this site. This is a unique game and it is difficult to price. Im just trying to make sure i get a fair return.

i would say $2,300 is a fair return, you got the game for free, it was up for offer and that was your high offer. i don't know what the problem is..

  • 2,300 is a fair return. Whats wrong with being a patient seller? I wasnt starting this thread to sell it. i was stating what happened and how i acquired it.  Not to get into a fight about it. Again i apologize for the 5th time.

    Agreed.

No matter what happens with this listing, we know who the real loser is: That poor kid and his ass-hat dad.
