complete 5 screw collection

anybody got one?  i was trying to get all of them for a while but then mega man, jaws and punchout surfaced, so that was a big blow.  and has goonies 2 been confirmed yet?  still have yet to see that one and super pitfall (although i heard it was confirmed)

  • There are also the oddballs like TMNT II. What about 3 screw rares? Like the DK MATH braveheart has.
  • I have them all. I'll take a pic later for you. But Alex is right, if you want a full screwy collection, you'll need the rare 3-screws also.

The outliers aren't really important to have a full "canon" set, like MTPO, TMNT II and the others...they were produced far too late to be part of the legit pre-rev-A era. But I do have the Mega Man and the Jaws, Goonies 2 and Super Pitfall. Read my e-Zine article for the most up-to-date info...I don't believe it has Jaws though.

I've got a 5 screw Super Pitfall, and I'm not a screw variant collector.

If any screw variant collectors are looking for it, I'm up for trading it out for the 3 screw variant.
  • Yeah I have all of them too. But MTPO and TMNT II aren't "real", they are more like fixed carts using old parts. The debate rages on... but I don't count those two, but I have the rest of them including Jaws, MegaMan, Goonies, and Super Pitfall.
  • I do not have Jaws, Kid Niki or MegaMan. I have the rest (I think).

5s are a different subset than 3s (in my opinion).

    Al
  • i got a good chunk of them. i only pick them up if they are mint and cheap
  • I have over 3/4's of them I think, but I haven't been after variants in a long time.

  • Do we really know weather or not MTPO was real or just a fix up? cuz date wise would it make sense that it was a 5-screw for a short period?
  • But the label did not jive. The 5-screw would be the earliest label without the "Made in Japan" which did not appear until later. The copy that surfaced had this late version.
  • I think the only one I still need of the "legit" ones is Mega Man AFAIK. Dan hooked me up bigtime on several of these, most recently Jaws!

I'm anxious to see that pic! My NES pr0n folder always needs new additions. image

What about the code on the chip?   Did that look accurate? I dunno it's just hard to believe that it didnt have a 5-screw at one time, Zelda did (not sure which came first), but MTPO came before games like Mega Man and Castlevania didn't it?
