Where is this map from?

Going through some Dragon Warrior stuff, I stumbled upon this map.  It can't go with the game, because completely folded the right way, it's too big for the box.  Is it a mail in map?  I thought it might have been from the mail in for DWI, but it just seems too important for gameplay to be released without the game.

    I had one of those as a kid, and I remember it coming in the mail from Nintendo Power, associated with the Dragon Warrior 1 subscription bonus.

    Yeah this is one of the more common mail away items. I've had a few come through my hands as well.
