Not sure on the value, but you could always auction it over at http://www.gamegavel.com .
The pic you provided is the Control Deck from 1990.
I wasn't going to say anything, but Andy is correct. The first system that came out in 1985 is the Deluxe Set, only it didn't say "Deluxe Set" on the box.
wow that sucks for me, maybe i can pull it off as a 1985 on ebay
I already don't like you. Please leave NA. Thanks.

It's alright to me because this website is based on honesty and integrity - he didn't listen to us in chat, and he openly says he wants to trick a potential buyer. That is something you don't joke about and can easily get you banned here.
I love how the NA chat told you days ago it was from 1990 and you still came here with this. A lot of us actually do... y'know, collect this stuff and spend enough time to know what we're talking about.
Not to join a flame bandwagon or anything, just backing up Randys
statements as I was in there with Randy discussing this.
I was there, telling you how some control decks were 1985, as a low tier, with the deluxe set as a high tier and you insisted that deluxe was newer then control deck. We explained it many times.
Then I asked about the seal of quality and u said it was a white oval seal, to which I told you it wasnt a 1985 deck then.
Beyond that, saying you want to scam people on ebay, even in a tounge and cheek manner, isn't looked upon in a very positive light in this community.
Collect just to have fun! Dont collect just to try to get things that will be worth a bunch of money in the future.
i dont want to sound like a dick or anything, i just think the guy deserves not to be shut down so quick
im not good with slang and what not
i dont want to sound like a dick or anything, i just think the guy deserves not to be shut down so quick
No
you don't sound like a dick, anybody else bashing on him sounds like it
though. Common guys, you're all making early assumptions. There's already enough mods around, and NA's not
a V.I.P club by the way.
To answer your question yairnazz, your NES System is worth anywhere between $250-$500 depending on condition and/or who's after it. A very nice piece by the way. What you have is a very late release since box has the later design with the Red Bar at top. It's not the most common version to find as far as I know. Now my question is: has the outer box ever been opened before?
If you want to advertise your item as a 1985 Nintendo then go for it. You are not actually misleading anyone with this information, and doing so will not artificially raise the interest towards it. Of course, your system has been manufactured in the 90's, although every toaster system is indeed copyrighted 1985. This being said, most collectors aren't 100% concerned by actual date of production of an item, while the other part that are concerned by this can easily figure out those things by themselves.
I once sold a Sealed Excitebike to a collector who was looking for the earliest possible version of Black Box games (he said). Before buying my copy, he asked me if the game had a 1985 copyright at the back of the box. I answered him that even thought the game had the older round seal of quality and was copyrighted 1985, it wasn't part of the first production run. The guy ended up buying it and was 100% happy with what he received. A couple months later I've put a true first print sticker sealed copy of Ice Climber on eBay, and the same guy wrote me a long message explaining how amazing was this copy and gave me all the information he had about the very first test market Nintendo has done in New York area back in October 1985. From that time I realized that the guy kinda knew what he was talking about, but as far as how he wanted to build his collection, his main concern wasn't about when the game was actually manufactured, it was just the plain fact that it had a "copyright 1985" mention on it.
yea but the guy is new so give him a break, how is he expected to know what and what not to joke about? its hard for you to relate because you've been here for so long, i still consider myself somewhat new so i know how it feels to try and figure out what is and what is not accepted.

I agree, I dont want to join a shit storm, I was just backing up Randys statements because yarnazz says he didnt remember us telling him.
I think Alex got a little carried away, for sure. He is, what we say, passionate, I guess?
Kiss and make up, dudes!
He means get the fuck out. As you see, it's completely irrelevant.
ok , the only slang i know is the "Laugh Out Loud" and i never use it
i just say
BUT
when you have a new member come to the boards, and telling the members they are going to scam...it's like having a thief in your own home. Even though the rest of the community is good, its still a "bad" house.
With that said, if he was joking...(which I highly doubt as that is no laughing matter) I apologize. However, if the OP wasn't joking, I stand by my comments 100%.

not the right thing to say even if you are joking especially when you have another thread in which re-seals have been pointed out. joking about tricking potential buyers in this thread makes me think of the other thread.
as you already know, not everyone can tell the difference with re-seals or something like this i hope you don't take advantage of that if and when you decide to sell this.

I am starting to not like you a whole hell of a lot. If you can't tell he was joking, YOU should leave NA
