Lunar SSS Fan Edition Price Check

Hey guys,

I've recently picked up a second copy of Lunar Silver Star Story Complete and was offered a trade for it. The guy wants to trade me his copy of Lunar Silver Star Story Fan Edition + Grandia. It seems like a fair trade but I have questions I'm not having a lot of luck finding answers to:

1. How much is the Fan Edition of Lunar SSS worth?
2. I have 2 copies of Lunar SSS Complete in my collection, one is the "Dragon Master Dyne / Dragon Master Alex" disc variation, and the other is the "Luna / Goddess Luna" disc variation. Is one of them worth more than the other or worth holding onto more than the other?

FYI - All games mentioned are CIB and in good shape.

  • 1. Well, Complete should be worth about $45, and the Fan Edition should be about $30. In reality, though, you see idiots on ebay paying stupid amounts of money for either. There's a copy of Complete that went for $12, then a copy of Fan that went for $95, then a fan for $30, then a complete for $65. It's just one of those games that people seem to not care how much it's "worth" as much as "I want it now, what's the first listing I see", if that makes any sense.

    2. There is no price difference on the PS1 variants, though I guess maybe someone might pay more the Magic Emperor / Xenobia, Phacia, Royce variant as that's suppposed to be the rarest. Unlike the Sega CD release of this, the variants seem to be much less collectible. I just saw on ebay the rare Sega CD variant someone paid $185 for it (only 1 bid); if you're patient, though, you can pick it up for much cheaper. Got mine together with Lunar 2 for $40 each image.
  • Yea I got my Lunar Silver Star Story Complete and Eternal Blue with one of the strategy guides for $75
  • What is the difference between the fan edition and complete? Is fan edition just game discs and not the fancy box, booklet, and cloth map?
  • Yeah. AFAIK, the Fan Edition has different disc art, only comes with 2 discs, the case and a paper manual. Lunar SSSC comes with 2 game discs, 1 making of disc, 1 OST CD, the cloth map, and the hardcover book.

    Thanks for the input!

  • the place i work has a Lunar Complete. I stashed it away. It has book and all but the outside paper sleeve is in really bad shape. Its 35. Is it worth it?
  • I'd say if you don't have one it's not a terrible deal to pick it up, maybe replace it with a better copy later on, but if the outer box is in really bad shape I personally wouldn't pay any more than 25-30.
  • How strange, I picked a complete Lunar on vacation. Mine has 4 discs, a cloth map, and fancy booklet. What would be a good price? I cant find any info. about the 4 disc version. One of the discs is a music/ soundtrack thing.
