I'm going to make him an offer...

Got a response to an ad of mine of craigslist. I've never encountered a R.O.B. so I'm wondering what I should offer him. There are pieces missing, as I expected, and I'm not sure if it's working or not, he said he'll check it out later today. I'm not concerned with the working order of the NES, cords, or controller, so much as I'm concerned with the R.O.B. since it'll be my first if I can seal the deal.

I'm looking for offer suggestions for a working R.O.B. and for a broken R.O.B. with the pieces that are shown in the following picture he sent to me:

Also, could someone tell me what that yellow piece is? I've never seen it before and I thought some of his lunch fell on the floor but he decided to snap the photo anyway image

Thanks in advance!

  • You can get them for like $15 on ebay if you're patient. I wouldn't spend more than that myself. Also, make sure the battery cover isn't missing.
  • Also, try lifting his shoulders up. If they go easy, it's busted. If there's resistance (it'll still move, but will stay in place once moved), then that mechanism at least works.
  • Alright cool I was thinking about offering him $35-$45 for everything depending on whether or not the R.O.B. works. I can fix it if it's electronics are busted but physical features are another story, so thanks for the heads up, Michael. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to buy a battery cover for this sucker so I'll be sure to look out for that, Jonathan.

On a side note, I'm glad I got both Jean Luc-Picard's one after the other in one post! In high school I was in a ska band called The LeVar BurTones, named after the actor who played Geordi, as I'm sure you're both well aware of. We didn't play any trek songs or anything, it was just a name created by my trekkie friends image

  • Gotta admit, it's clever image
