So I just bought the most awesome modded game system ever.
Its a consolized Neo Geo MVS system with HD component video and custom unibios (allows switching of regions and from arcade to home modes). Plus most mvs mods are ugly as hell with wires sticking out everywhere, but this almost looks like a legit system. And it was $200! cheaper than a ol plain regular AES system!
Stoked.

and a component video mod on an hdtv will absolutely blow your mind. I would say its almost required if you are playing on one.

That's what I was planning on getting. Just gettign one reasonabley priced with a nice case, is kind of tricky.
If anyone is interested in one of these my buddy makes them with built in LCD screens with tv out controller ports etc and I think he charges 400-500. I think he can make it handheld and run off battery power also. If there is any interest PM me and I can get you in contact.
Portable, sure...but "handheld"? The cartridges are the size of textbooks, so there is no way to make a "handheld" CMVS.
I'd love to see pics of his work, though. I'm definitely interested in snagging one of these at some point.
Ulasamosa that ones rad! Didn't know you had that one. You sold it to kit-kit?
I still have it's MotW themed brother bult by Xian Xi. Love it.

I held it in my hands. Therefor it is handheld. It may not be gameboy size but it is handheld.

I dont remember who bought it, that was awhile back. Mine was the 2nd one of that design ever. The SouthtownHomebrew grand opening promotional giveaway was the first. Once Xian Xi told everyone he got the cases from Mouser then they started popping up more. Loopyeddie started mine, then Jeff Kurtz (inventor of NeoBitz) finished it. The Dub did the Sanwa mod on the joystick and the stenciling of the MVS logo. I loved that thing. I was sad to sell it but I was broke and it was the most "expendable" gaming item I had at the time. :-(
Your current job list:
1. Buy 30 rack of favorite beer
2. Invite friends over
3. Load that thing up with Wind Jammers and MOTW
4. Enjoy!
I keep seeing CMVS consoles on eBay, but they're always way too expensive. I can't spend $700 on one of those. Hell, I can barely spend $200.
