Manifestos Garage Sale\Swap Meet Finds.

I went out to some garage sales today in hopes of finding some nintendo items. It was looking like a wasted effort until I came across the last garage sale listing in my local newspaper. There was nothing close to what I was looking for so I did the smart thing and ASKED if they had any nintendo stuff. First she said no then asked "what kind of nintendo stuff?". I said old stuff like super nintendo then she said she had a system and went to go take it out. She brought out a big bag and in it was a nintendo system with a dozen controllers and guns. Also in the bag were some common games and games I already had. So I took these two games for $15.

Picked this up at the swap meet across town before I went to work. It is a sealed Croc 2 demo. I paid $4 dollars for it and tried to get it for a lower price but "It hasnt even been opened yet" so I took the hit.

Im not much of a playstation collector but if the price is right, i'll take anything. This controller was sitting in a box at a yardsale. I picked it up and walked with it to let it be known I'm looking for any video game related stuff. I asked if they had any games for "this" and the lady said no. I then asked if she had any nintendo games which she replied no. I asked how much she was looking for the controller and she said "two dollars for whatever that is". I don't need to tell you if I took it or not.

I didn't know what it was until I tried trading it into my local reseller store because they got a Ninja Gaiden Trillogy with a shitty back I wanna replace for $45 bucks. Anyways, we tried looking it up and nothing. The girl even looked on ebay and nothing. Until we found ONE that was selling for $150 dollars. I'm sure mine isn't worth that much but damn. I was told by a source (hybrid) that these are really sought after and pretty rare. So yeah. Two bucks does get you something in this economy.
  • Nice find. Was the one on ebay selling at $150 or listed at that price?
  • Yep, that was a nifty grab. I've found three, and though I couldn't bring myself to part with the other two (because I love fighting games and these things are PRIMO), I sold the third for $70 on eBay. So no, you won't get $150, but you'll still make a chunk of change.
  • We found the one selling at $150 on some random website. I'm waiting to get a estimate on shipping to list it on ebay.
  • Is there something special about the controllers that makes them so expensive? Rare or just sought after?
  • damn 25 shipped for dw 4 , thats gonna get snatched up quickly

    great find

I think it's a combination of rarity and quality construction. Like I said, I love mine to death. I do recall seeing one sell for over a hundred on eBay. The problem is that they don't pop up very often, so there will be a wider variance due to the span in between completed auctions.
  • some people were using them for custom arcades awhile back atleast the dreamcast version because of the design and quality. I have a cib dreamcast version near new, last one i saw on ebay like it brought $175 but it was awhile ago.

  • That stick looks nice!
Since you guys seem to know about these and I don't really, this seems like an awesome opportunity to ask about something I can never find information on.  I'm wondering if anybody is familiar with this one at all?  I put a game next to it to show its size.  The bottom is metal, the rest is plastic.  It's solid!

I found one of those once, too, but decided to get rid of it because of the wacky button layout and the fact that it's HUGE. It didn't get much on eBay, like 20 bucks maybe. I couldn't find much info on it; just some third party arcade stick.
  • ^^ Yeah I was thinking of USB-ing it and using it for a MAME project but haven't gotten around to it.
  • The rumble functionality makes it somewhat unique, though!
