Was that the guy who posted his garage sale ad on Craigslist, he had like hipsters vintage clothes for sale and stuff like that? Looks like you guys got some cool stuff, I knew I should have gone to that.

Yep, that was the one. We got there super early and waited for them to let people in.
nice score toby, how much did everything set you guys back?
That's exactly half of what we got. Chuck and I split it up equally. I grabbed a bunch of stuff and then tried to make a deal on the whole lot. That's when someone else got a few things and I'm glad to find out it was someone from NintendoAge. We went back later and bought what was left which was mostly loose Genesis carts. If Chuck wants to say what we paid he can. He was originally asking $2 a game and $5 for SNES RPGs, $25 on ROB, $40 for a Virtual Boy with Wario Land, $10 for a mint boxed Genesis but we got it our stuff for much less.
Am I the only one who doesn't get why people would be "hush-hush" about what they paid for something?
I bought it with a friend and I just don't want to spill the beans if he doesn't. Usually it's not a big deal but on higher dollar transactions I can see why people don't want to disclose what the sale price was or who the buyer or seller was.
No problem spilling the beans! We paid $225 for everything (112.50 each)
The seller was really nice and just wanted to clear out his stuff. We were happy to oblige. ;-)
Like Toby said, I got half of it so you are only seeing 50% of the haul in his photos. In my part of the lot was a complete Virtual Boy, 100 or so Genesis bare carts, Maybe 30 SNES carts, 20 or so NES, PS1 and Dreamcast games, Turbo Grafx console, Dreamcast controllers, etc. No holy grails, but definitely the kind of loose lots of game stuff that I like. Honestly I think 0xero0 got the best two carts in the lot. Like Toby said, I'm glad someone on NA got them instead of a CL flipper.
There was also a large box filled with 10-or-so N64 consoles an a bunch of Dreamcast accessories, but he wanted too much so we left them They were gone when we came back in the afternoon to buy the leftovers.
Oh yeah, you guys beat me by 5 minutes and left me with sloppy seconds. HA
Its cool. I dont have that kind of cash!
Lol! Yeah, we kinda camped out on that one. At first we were the only ones there waiting, but then other people started showing up and we got a little worried. When the door opened, no one ran to the video games but us.
Toby and I were on an awesome endorphin high for the rest of the day. ;-)

I can only think that they don't want to brag about getting $100 worth of nice stuff for $10, only to turn around and sell it on the same forum for $100. Kind of a slap in the face to the potential buyers if they see the deal they got and the profit margin they'd be enjoying.
But that's the only reason I can think of - dunno if anyone has any other reasons for it.

Dang, me too. I emailed him too but just got lazy that morning and had a friend stopping by on her way down to Oregon.
I showed up just as you guys were finishing up. You walked out of that place with a steal of a deal.
Though 0xero0, I don't know if that Zombie Nation for basically nothing counts as sloppy.
I can't believe 4 people who are on NintendoAge were at the same garage sale at the same time. Did you guys make it to the last Portland Retro Gaming Expo?

Nice did the people at the yard sale advertise that they will be selling games? Or did you merely walked into the sale as you where passing by? Most Yard sales & Garage sales don't advertise if they did I'd be all over their sales within my town. I did score a $5 Rob at a garage sale not long ago and ended up reselling it for $40 bucks Not bad I'd say.

There was a Craigslist ad with pics of all that stuff. That's why we were there super early and waited.

Digging that watch.
Indeed, the watch is minty-fresh. Definitely a great find.
