My finds in the wild

I pretty much never find anything good in the wild out here except maybe some $10 carts for $3, but today we found a Craiglist ad for a yard sale boasting "N64 with a lot of games" so we checked it out. Got there 30 minutes after start time and it was still there! Here's what I got, for $25. He was asking $25 and I didn't bother to try to bring him down. It was a good value and I just grabbed it. All of the game labels are in awesome condition. The Zelda looks faded in places though, and there is some marker on one of the labels. For everything else the only defects are indentation lines from rubbing against things but the labels aren't damaged. The controller sticks are also pretty good!

Just seemed like too great of a deal to pass on. I don't collect N64 but these should serve as good barter food image

Games are:

Excitebike 64
Diddy Kong Racing
Extreme G XG2
Bass Hunter 64
Hot Wheels Turbo Racing
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 ( x2 carts )
Wave Race 64
Mario Kart 64
Cruisin' USA
1080 Snowboarding
Off Road Challenge
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (gray cart)

So N64 guys...how did I do? An old issue of Video Game Collector that I use as a rough guide for purchasing non-NES stuff put the cart values around $175. Even at half that...with the system and 4 controllers I feel like this was a steal

  • The controllers alone are worth more than that, you did great image
  • Nice find! You got some awesome games to play there, OoT and Diddy Kong racing are pretty great.
  • Its a good deal; but N64 seems like a dime a dozen nowadays. If you really seeking to make profit off it I would suggest to separate and sell it.

I think you got about $120ish worth of stuff (if and only if its individually sold); but this is just my opinion. Still a great find, you could probably sell all of it together on craigslist for $60-$80.

I'm thinking I'm going to split everything up, so I can use each game as a bargaining chip to trade for CIB NES stuff. Selling on the bay and CL is usually too much hassle for me and I much prefer trading on here image
  • I see that I now have some stiff know competition on CL now in NH!

I figure you're too far away to be looking at yard sales in Nashua... =p

I probably only live a few minutes from you, so anywhere you go I can go too
  • I forgot about Scott. I only really do CL listings around the state. I do not get to yard sales very much because I work till 130pm every sat and sun.

I've found that yard sales are so hard to find good stuff at around here. But all the good CL stuff must be disappearing before I see it, because I never see good deals on there either =p
  • Nice Deal. The only games I would separate are diddy kong, Mario Kart, and Zelda OOT. Even those games only sell for $5, $10, $8 tops it seems. The rest are just common games if Im not mistaking. Are the games complete? If it were me I would sell those three separate and then put the rest up on Ebay or Craigslist in a lot for $50 BIN on Ebay and $40 on Craigslist. Commons dont sell well individually, plus I dont have the patience to list an extra 15 items :-). I think you could pull $80 for all the stuff. + $55 Good Job!!
