Pretty cool, cheap find

So I go into Play N Trade today for my bi-weekly tour around.

Found a Chrono Trigger cart there for $52.99, decided to pass it up since I could probably get it cheaper.

Then, I saw a Gold Zelda Cart.

I did need a gold one to complete my gold/classic copies of both Zelda, and Link, so I decided to look at the price to see how much it would set me back...

(sorry for the crap copy of the price sticker, cam was dying out)
For all who can't read it, that says $2.99!  I decided to pick it up and take it to the register.

The guy looked on the back of it, flipped it over, saw it was Zelda, and flipped it back over again to check the sticker....he shakes his head.

He tells me "You know you got a really good deal on this right?"  I say "Yupp, I know!"

He points out that another employee accidentally stuck a sticker for Pinball on the cart, but he decided to let it slide and give it to me for the $2.99 price instead.  Giving me a savings of a rounded $17.00 (they sell it for $20.00)!

Nothing too big, but a fun fortune that doesn't come to me too often image

  • Not to be a chode, but...

Generally a find of 1 common cart doesn't deserve its own dedicated thread. If people made a thread every time they found a loose Zelda the boards would be cluttered in no time.

There is a thread for posting small scores already:

Again, not trying to be a jerk, its just the general practice of the site to create less clutter.

Gratz on the score though, cant beat getting an item for 10% of what you expected it to cost image
  • :-/ Sorry about that, guess I just got a bit too excited lol

    I eat chodes for breakfast!!!!
  • I have trouble getting more than $9 shipped for these recently...not really a huge deal man.
  • That's a rare find! (in terms of Play N Trade prices)

At Play N Trade you can find a Power Blade 2 for $9 bucks, but then you see 4 zeldas and 6 marios for atleast 20 bucks each. That's at least from my PNT experiences.

**edit I should've read entire post** oohh i see, I was wondering how you got it for "cheap", 'cause there's no way PNT would sell a popular/nostalgic game at that low of a price.
