36 carts

Okay, here's the deal. I run an ad in the local Bulletin Board for NES games in the WANT section. I get some calls, but most are usually just people with an NES and SMB/Duck Hunt.

I had a guy call me today trying to sell me 36 Carts, a toaster, a Zapper and a controller (maybe 2, not sure). He wants 75 just for the carts or 100 for all. I didn't get a chance to write them all down but I can give a summary of what I remember.

Silver Surfer
2 of the Simpsons games (he didn't specify)
Castlevania
720 Degrees
Little League Baseball
Megaman
Double Dragon - The Revenge
TMNT 2
Jackie Chan Kung Fu
Dynowars

I'm not positive about these, I have bad memory:
Ninja Gaiden
Snakes Revenge
Captain Planet and the Planeteers

I wanted to know if any 75 would be a good price for all the carts and if any of these games are particularly difficult to find locally.

  • I bet he'll go $75 or even less for everything. Your in control always remember that. I've gotten people to drop there prices by as much as 80%! One member can verify that I did that at a Flea Market.
  • I think what I'll do is try to get him to go to 50-60 for just the carts and seeing as he told me he wanted someone who would buy it all, I think I could get it all for about 65-75. I'm just hoping there were a few gems in there that he neglected to read off to me.
  • bradley is a negotiating machine.
  • I'm getting the full list tomorrow so if i end up with some good stuff, I'll post again.
  • Good luck, could be a real bargain!
  • If he's got lots of good titles mixed in- Contra, SMB 2& 3, and Mega Man, etc..., then $3/game would be about my ceiling, and that's wholesale. I'd pick up the system and everything if I were you, if only to toss it up on ebay. NES's are still selling very well and for much higher than normal at the moment.
  • Okay, so its been a few days and I haven't been able to get ahold of him. I'm expecting him to call sometime today so I can get a full list. He lives in my area so I may even have the games today. It would totally make my weekend.

  • One thing about Craigslist is more people back out of deals than any where I ever seen and I keep a running count on all who back out of deals
  • I was getting this through a local bulletin board, I guess it's all the same. I haven't heard from him, I have tried to contact him quite a few times, I think he's either a really busy person or he's just ducking me.

Oh well, I may have someone else lined up who I think may have even a better deal. I should have more info today.

  • Craig's list has been my haven for quite some time now. I can't recall how many awesome deals I've gotten off there. I think only 1 guy dodged me over a deal, but it was a pretty ludacris deal. He must have realized his 100 nes games plus were worth more than 75$...
