You are correct, regular Nintendo sleeve.

Seth, could you put the detail I actually asked about? Namely the copyright date on the Game Plan poster? Seems they changed them every year with games removed/added yearly, and an overall redesign every 2 years ('86 and '87 had one design, '88 and '89 had another, haven't seen an '85 yet though). In the '90s they added codes to the posters. Basically just need to know if that Stack Up had an '85, '86, or '87 poster included with it.

And yes, it was Frisbee's copy, he's the one who referred me to Seth.

wiz, after i got done having my way with your mom, i got a chance to confirm that the date on my poster is 1985! image

edit: also, it was never fris' copy. it was mine all along and i was trading/selling it to him until that shit happened. my other sealed copy was sold to MRN.

  • i also edited my original post to reflect the date so anyone searching this thread will find the complete information
  • Sweet man, that shall be added to the list image Thanks Mr. McBoobins image

  • This wasnt real recent but I bought 2 games a while back ago, both sealed. 1 which I needed was Bible Buffet and the other was Exodus. I didnt open Exodus but I did enjoy opening Bible Buffet. Kind of fun opening something that has been all lonely for years.
  • We lost the sticky? Well, here's one way to bump it to the top - Open a new game.

  • I think it needs to get restickied once a year or something. It's not the first time it's slipped off. And Guano, if you still have that Bible Buffet, post the contents image Oh, and I need the standard Color Dreams variant info...cart color, back label type, etc, as well as the version number on the title screen. And if you open Exodus, post those contents too image
  • Rockin' Kats! Nice!
  • Now that we have the updated list, I will be focusing on games that have never been documented before. Could this get re-stickied?

  • Good question. Mods, hit that damn sticky button again! image
  • ATTN: I have reached an agreement on a VGA graded game. I'm not going to reveal the title of it as yet, however I WILL be opening it, and I WILL record a video of it. Call this building suspense or something. This is a private transaction, so the only people who know about it are me and the seller, Dr. Morbis, and Bronty, and I trust the three of them to not spill the beans about it. It will be in transit soon, so sometime in the next month or so (depending on delivery time and when I can get a camera) I shall be cracking a VGA case in addition to bastardizing the seal on the game.

image I wanted to be the first one to do that on cam.  Just kidding, enjoy Wiz..  I can't wait for the video. image
  • Thanks Paul image I can't either image Oh, and the game isn't a bad pick either. No Panic, but it's a good one.
  • Haha that's outrageous Mike...I can't wait!

This was an exciting one for me as I distinctly remember opening this on Christmas years ago! Unfortunately, there weren't any special inserts or anything. New to the list.

  • This was an interesting one. First, I had my doubts about the validity of the vertical overlap seal so I had to reference Bronty's 'how is it sealed' series. I've had a few games with this seal but they've mostly been LJN/Acclaim. Still being published in '92 by kind of an odd ball company (Virgin) I thought it was likely. Bronty's guide confirmed Overlord was in fact a vertical overlap.

The interesting part was that this was the first licensed game I've seen that didn't have any codes on the inserts! I know the early "Now you're playing with power" posters don't have codes, but this had a registration card and a poster/guide that had no codes. Also, there was no Nintendo Power subcription card. Plus, it had the alligator skin dust sleeve. I know all of 8 people care about this information! New to the list...

  • ^ Damn, have you lost any other games' info? Yea, Overlord is a strange one. Is this the only game so far to have no codes on the inserts?

This one is not new to the list, but I got it for $13 so it was worth it for the upgrade. Seems to be identical to the copy that was previously opened.

  • It's not really LOST per se, it's just stuck on the hard drive on my laptop which has a fried motherboard. Once I get the housing to put it in my desktop, I can compare that file to the current one and probably do a huge update from there.
  • So what's the point of getting it VGAed and then opening it wizzy? Why not save the money and inspect the seal yourself?
  • The game sells for roughly $50 less CIB, and I've already got a buyer who will pay me the full $155 I'm paying. The point is, I'm getting a graded game that I will happily open for the sake of opening a VGA game. I've wanted to be the first to open a graded game since VGA started up, so that in itself is the point of it. And I'm not getting it graded, it's coming to me that way.
  • Is it worth noting the styrofoam variant that is only half as wide? I know Final Fantasy has one due to the giant manual and map inserts. I don't know of any others that have it though.
  • Did final fantasy come with a sleeve sealed?, I have a hard time fitting them in my CIB's without bulging the box out, so I just leave them out?

Has that one been opened, too lazy to look this up.
  • Final Fantasy has been opened, but not tracked. Long story short, the retard posted a picture and then threw a hissy fit when I asked for the codes on all the items, so it was impossible to add it. Anyway, it did not come with a sleeve. Think the Dragon Warrior I opened also didn't have a sleeve, but I'm not certain of that offhand and am too lazy to check the list. And Tom, I plan to note those when they come up (not sure if one has yet or not though). I make it as a note at the end of the entry.

I think all the Dragon Warriors had the small styro due to maps and stuff.

  • Hey, I don't mean to threadjack here or ask a bad question, but is there any particular reason why there is no SNES list of sealed game contents? If it is because nobody has stepped up to the plate, then I might be willing to do it. I am new to the SNES scene, but I would be willing to help out the community.
