Is this a real game?

I looked up the title of the game on Wikipedia, and apparently there were a lot of ports, but Wikipedia doesn't say anything about a Famicom version.

Also I don't get why they are in Mario Land in that video.

Also there is this video, saying the music is pulled form the NES game.

Comments

  • The end credits say Dragon Slayer 5, and the only Dragon Slayer I know of was part 4, aka Legacy of the Wizard. I also highly doubt they'd make the last boss level a complete SMB ripoff...
  • I know there was at least 2 other Dragon Slayer games for NES, but I didn't know about that one. The two others were Faxanadu, and Dragon Slayer Jr.: Romancia.
  • Really? I just searched "Dragon Slayer" on Famicom World and that was the only one that turned up image Regardless, it doesn't really look legit at all, more like someone hacked a working game together from parts of other games.
  • Perhaps you are right. I translated the video description with Google and got this "I made Sorcerian NES version?

    MMC3 use."
  • The title screen seems to complex, but I may be wrong. May be a rom hack, or just a hoax made in flash or somthing.
  • I'm guessing that it's a hack.

Faxanadu is based on the same series as Legacy of the Wizard?

From Wikipedia, for what its worth:

"Faxanadu can be considered a side-story of Xanadu, which is the second installment of Falcom's long-running RPG series, Dragon Slayer."
  • Wow that I did not ever know about Faxanadu. Not so funny coincidence xanadu is in and of both named games.

I've heard the part about Xanadu, before, but never made the connection that it was associated with Legacy of the Wizard.

I have to agree here,  The level looks just like SMB.
