Growing arcade cabinet collection...
9/10/10:
Found another ad on Craigslist for a free arcade cabinet! This one was in much nicer shape, nearly no damage at all. It was also a Centuri cabinet, but for the game The Pit. I called and left a message about 45 mins after the ad was posted. About five minutes later I found another listing from the guy for some Arkanoid stuff (PCB, control panel with spinner, and marquee) for $50. I sent him an email telling him I wanted both items. I never heard back. About 5 hours later I called again saying I was interested in the cabinet, he said it was already gone. Bummer. A couple hours later he called me back after seeing my email. He said he had already promised the cabinet to someone else, but since I was interested in the Arkanoid stuff too he would let me have the cabinet. He also said he would throw in an iffy monitor for free (he broke it when I went to pick it up, shitty). Also came with a newish Happ power supply.
I will be putting the Arkanoid stuff into this cabinet and will have to hunt down a 19" arcade monitor. I'll post the Arkanoid stuff later.

9/4/10:
Managed to snag a FREE arcade cabinet off of craigslist! The cabinet is from an old Centuri Pheonix game and it's in pretty rough shape. It came with six buttons, an 8-way joystick, coin door with coin mechanism and bucket, light fixture, speaker, power supply, most of the harnesses and a heavy duty padlock that I found the key for hidden in the wiring behing the coin door. I have an old computer that I'm going to throw in it to run MAME on. I'll use its monitor until I manage to find a free 20-25" TV somewhere. All I need to buy is an I-Pac and I'll have a running MAME machine under $50 for the garage.

Nice find.
Very nice! Good if you know how to setup arcades
I don't, yet. These will get my feet wet. I've got the computer for the MAME machine nearly fully set up. I'm just waiting for my I-Pac to get here, then I'll throw everything together. The Arkanoid will test my determination. I've been looking at schematics, seems do-able. But nobody around here wants to let go of their working arcade monitors. I may have to break down and buy an overpriced one off ebay and hope it doesn't get damaged in shipping.
Two more today, this is almost getting out of hand.

I bought a dedicated GORF off of ebay for only $170 back in October. That game is awesome! I also bought a two screen Run N Gun the same day for $80. I've been slowly turning the two screen arcade machine into my MAME rig. If you're interested you can check out progress here: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=108719.0
I also picked up a Hit The Ice in a Dynamo cab for free locally and have since sold and traded it away. The DigDug and Sky Shark cabs have also been sold. I've got two 25" arcade monitors and an extra 19" arcade monitor waiting for projects. After my two screen MAME machine is done, I've got plans to build a 32" vertical monitor machine in a Mortal Kombat / Killer Instinct style cab. This arcade collecting has become a disease, I can't stop it, and since it has started, I've all but forgotten about my NES...
