I game whenever I get free time. Ive been sick so I've had a ton of free time lately about 5 hours a day... crazy right?? I play alot of Xbox 360 but right now I am playing Suikoden 5 for the PS2. I also have been playing NES emulators and putting them up on Youtube.
When I'm in the middle of a game and have nothing else going on I probably set aside somewhere around 4 hours or more a day for it.
But generally I mix my time with my other two hobbies, reading and carpentry. I travel a lot on the weekends so I don't get a lot done then, but if I have a weekend home with nothing to do I'll put some serious hours into gaming. On average, I'd say I get probably 10-15 hours a week in.
I play video games all day some days. Though still there are times when I can go a week or more without even touching a single game, sometimes, usually because things in my life are getting me too down even for gaming, it's best just to give gaming a rest. For NES games, beating games is mostly easy so when I had my NES, I'd give myself some extra challenges to do in each, beat them without dying, or using minimum weapons or items, or such. I usually focus on one game at a time, play it really serious till I beat it, then move on to the next game I'm in the mood to play. If it's a very long game, could take me a few days or so, so I do nothing but play that game until it's done. And I keep very detailed records of every game that I beat, that's how serious I am with playing video games.
I play whenever I get a chance. It's very sporadic, sometimes only a few hours a week. When I'm really into a game and have all the time in the world, I bring on the 16 hour + gaming marathons.
I would say at least 15 min a day. I usually turn on the psp when I lay down in bed for a bit, just can't fall asleep, and the girlfriend is usually out so no luck there
Really, it all depends on my work schedule, if I'm going onto nightshift I stay up through the night a couple days before hand to get into it, and staying up all night I usually just play through until I'm tired. It really varies for me.
Ideally, I'd want at least 2-3 hours a day. Lately, it's been right around that since Halo Reach has been out, but the girlfriend has been bitching considerably. Apparently I'm not allowed to play video games or I'm "neglecting" her.
With a full set of classes and work I barely even see my game systems. During the summer I would usually play CODMW2 and Oblivion throughout most nights. But since school started I havent signed on to psn or even played and other system for that matter.

Sounds like she needs a hobby.
