What arcade adaption SNES games are there?

How many SNES carts are there that are arcade machine adaptions?

I'm looking for ones that are unique to SNES.  For example, Ms. Pac-Man was ported to NES and SNES, but I'm wondering if there are any that were released only to SNES.

  • I think the SNES version of Space Invaders was the first console version to faithfully replicate the original screens and backgrounds 100% (or close to it)?

    I think the SNES was the only home system to get a port of The Combatribes.

    Super EDF, as far as I know, is the only home port of the arcade game Earth Defense Force.

    I believe Gradius III was originally exclusive to the SNES, until the PS2 compilation Gradius III and IV (As well as the Gradius Collection for PSP).

    Acrobat Mission was only ported to the SNES (As far as I know). It's an import-only release though (it's too bad, it's pretty good).

    I keep having to edit this because every time I save it, something else pops into my head. :X

    **Edit:

    I'm pretty sure the SNES was the only system to get the original Sonic Wings/Aero Fighters (Whereas the Saturn and PlayStation got bits and pieces of it in the Sonic Wings Special release).

    I also think it was the only system to get a port of S.T.G.: Strike Gunner (Vertical shooter).

    I thought Aero Fighters was a Neo-Geo game. Or, was that just Aero Fighters 2 & 3?

  • True I just was trying to help with a general list of stuff I could recall, but I didn't go digging everything up on wikipedia to see if it was system unique.

    Not entirely thorough, but I listed at least what I knew did appear on other platforms (i.e., they don't count). image

    Street Fighter 2 -> PC, Game Boy, etc.
    Super Buster Bros -> Buster bros ported to other platforms (PlayStation, for one)
    Bust-A-Move(aka Puzzle Bobble)
    -> Game Gear, 3DO, Neo-Geo, Game Boy (I think)
    Darius Twin -> Not an arcade port, a home-exclusive.
    Killer Instinct
    -> Game Boy.
    Samurai Shodown
    -> Genesis, 3DO, Neo-Geo platforms
    King of the Monsters 1 and 2
    -> Part 1 Sega Genesis, Part 2 Neo-Geo platforms
    Fatal Fury, 2, and Special -> 2 Sega Genesis (and others), Special on Sega CD (and others)
    Final Fight (-1 player and -1 stage)
    -> Sega CD, various computers
    Frogger -> Genesis, Game.Com, and more.
    Arkanoid
    -> NES, MSX, other platforms.
    Joe & Mac(not positive, know there was an arcade game around it) -> SNES version was new, sort of.. Other versions based more around the arcade game (Genesis, NES, Game Boy, etc).
    Lethal Enforcers -> Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation via the Lethal Enforcers I & II Pack
    Marvel Super Heroes
    -> Not an arcade port, all new game.
    Mortal Kombat 1,2,3 and Ultimate MK3 -> Every other system under the sun
    Total Carnage -> Amiga CD32, Atari Jaguar
    Smash TV
    -> NES, Genesis, Game Gear, maybe Game Boy, etc. etc.
    T2 the Arcade Game
    -> Genesis, Game Gear, PC, and more
    Super Offroad
    -> Genesis, Game Gear, Lynx (I think), and more
    Sunset Riders
    -> Genesis
    Street Fighter Alpha 2 (pretty faithful amazingly)
    -> Playstation, Saturn, maybe even PC.
    Steel Talons
    -> Genesis, Lynx
    Rampart
    -> Genesis, Lynx, and more
    Hard Drivin
    -> Probably on other systems.

  • I think if it fell onto a NeoGeo which really was just a home arcade cartridge port or a gameboy is a bit of a stretch, but I follow.

    Not really.. An exclusive is an exclusive. If it appears on another platform, it's not exclusive. Game Boy, maybe I'll give that to you, but the Neo-Geo was certainly a home console, so it's not a stretch by any means.. Not exactly cheap, but neither was the 3DO when it came out (Hell, that was pricier than the Neo-Geo originally!). image
  • Fair enough. Gameboy for sure just can't be considered in really most of the cases as the 'ports' were so off based and shitty much of them were just not recognizable at all other than a few graphics and maybe the name. I think the only stuff that was semi-well done I guess Samurai Shodown would fit into and Fatal Fury because despite being 2 buttons and 'chibi' style graphics they played right.

    Killer Instinct was also very well done.. A helluva lot better than the other GB fighting games, anyway.
  • Hmm I had it or at least had borrowed it years ago and I don't remember liking it so much, though I do recall MK was the worst as far as comparison in how the controls to do specials were.
  • Well, there are games that are more complete arcade translations like Sunset Riders which was a huge improvement over the genesis port. Turtles in Time is the only one I can think of at the moment that fits the description though...
  • u must buy T2 or that aerosmith shooter game. better then anything nintendo ever made til this day. period. can't forget the simpsons games that bombed which seem alright lol
  • The only good simpsons game was the Simpsons Arcade Game from Konami which had a pretty cool port to MSDOS years ago (circa 1990) which I held onto for years until PCs just ended up hating it to death with Vista and around then I lost my digital copy of it and had lost my old box of it too. :\ I hated that code sheet crap though entirely.

    Well, it's a good thing MAME emulates it perfectly!
