Favorite Nintendo Gaming System

It was bound to happen eventually.
What's your favorite Nintendo gaming system?
(Note: I'm leaving out really obscure stuff.)
I can see this as being as boring as last week's poll... image

  • SNES followed by NES.
  • I had to go with Gamecube, even though the controller sucks huge balls.
  • NES is the best by far. Don't get me wrong, I love the snes and I loved the Gamecube simply because of the Resident Evil remake which is probably in my top 20 favorite games but the nes had some of the best titles especially when you look at the hardware limitations. It was always amazing to me what was capable with the nes sound chip.
  • NES, hands down!
  • NES, duh!?
  • N64. I went NES -> Genny -> N64 so I can't rate SNES fairly. NES had great games but multiplayer really shined on the N64 (made 4 ports the new standard), and I have my most fond gaming memories there.

I gotta say, looking back on it now, the N64 changed multiplayer forever and I too had alot of great memories playing Goldeneye with friends and family but to me, the N64 and other more modern consoles lack the timelessness of the old sprite based graphics. Some of those early polygon games haven't aged very gracefully.
  • I like nintendo and super ninteno but the rest of there home systems I could not get into.
  • Nintendo 64 wins by combo of awesome games, awesome graphics, awesome multiplayer, and awesome memories.
  • I'd say N64 is probably #3 for me, because it really does have the best multiplayer games.
  • I put the NES, but semi-hate myself for it. The SNES wins bar-none for the best hardware in my mind and what it could accomplish with those games was an amazing feat only matched much later by the GBA at a lower resolution. The NES though has such volume in games in ranging quality from crap to good, but there's just so much good percentage wise overall it just needed to get the vote. SNES had great games too, but a smaller percentage I think, nothing like a 10/90 or worse split like playstation had in the mid90s...you get the idea.
  • My favorite is a toss up between the nes and the ds. Followed by snes, gba, wii, gb, gbc, g&w, gamecube, 64, and virtual boy.
  • Gamecube, SNES, NES
  • NES, based on the number of games I like to this system and how I like the games themselves. It is also my greatest collectible area as I aim for a complete USA and SCN collection

Snes comes second with a great number of interesting games and many good action/adventure titles does it have as well. The music and the style rocks

N64 comes third and has a few good titles. I also like the controller as it fits in the hand but I hate the bad quality of it and how easy it is to make it worn. Currently I dont got any collection on this one as I sold it all off this spring in need of money but I will probably start with it again

Color TV-Game, GameCube and Wii are the systems I've newer had. I am interested in Color TV-Game and might start with those. No interest in GameCube and when it comes to Wii, I'm only interested in New Super Mario Bros so far. Might get a Wii but there is no haste to do so

I dont have any of the handheld systems and will newer ever want to own them even for some playing. I rounded 2 games in total for Game Boy and that's enough. Stationary systems are enough for me so I avoid them at all cost. It is worth to be sitting on that train and wait those boring hours until I reach the final desitnation and knowing that I will succeed in the collection of the stationary systems
  • I still want to get ahold of some of the Game & Watch games. But the NES is king hands down.
  • N64 FTW!
  • I'm surprised there is so much N64 love.

I went with Game Boy myself. Too many good memories playing Super Mario Lands, Kirbys, Link's Awakening and Metroid.
  • Okay 2 things, whoever voted for the Wii needs to be placed in the HoS 3.0 for crappy system selection. Another thing N64 is garbage as well, there are maybe 10 really good titles PERIOD!
  • The NES by far is my favorite Nintendo system, and probably always will be.
  • NES, duh! :-p

I'm not sure why you're that surprised.  But I am surprised Gameboy has less hits as it just makes me sad.  Gameboy was basically the portable NES in so so many ways from capabilities to the games it had.  I hope before the poll is up it has more than your solitary vote.

You have made me very sad. So sad, a frowning smiley just wouldn't do the trick. I had to resort to a crying .gif. I hope you're happy.

Anyway, I absolutely love my 'Cube [and its infinitely awesome controller]. I have collected over 100 complete games for the system, and play it pretty much every day.

I never have and never will play a Gameboy.  I'm sure it has quality games, but I don't watch black and white movies and I prefer to play in color as well.

DS however, is absolutely incredible.  First and only portable console I own and worth every penny of the purchase price.
