I haven't watch pop fiction on game trailer in a while but they did a myth I never thought it was possible doing.

    Known about this for ages. Avoiding certain trainers and teleporting at the moment you encounter that one trainer in the grass. You can actually pretty much encounter any Pokemen in Red/Blue without cheats.

    The stats of the Pokemon that you defeat in the battle with the trainer determines what pokemon appears (that slowpoke = a battle with mew), but depending on which trainer you fight you can pretty much encounter ANYTHING.

    If you go to Speed Demos Archive and look at the current speedrun of Pokemon Red/Blue the runner gets Mew very early and levels it up to lv100 instantly and just breezes through the game.

    I always get Mew on my RBY playthroughs. It's a beast. I also knew that it was just a matter of time before they did this myth haha.

    I got mine from a friend that got it from a friend that got it from a friend, bla bla, that got it from a Nintendo convention. Same goes for Celebi on the Silver and Gold games. image

    Since my games are lost and I've just started "buying them back", I cheated and got Mew using Game Genie. image

    Wow, I never knew that! Nintendo is actually giving away Mew on HeartGold and SoulSilver right now. If you have them, just go to the "Mystery Gift" option in the menu and use "Nintendo Wi-Fi" to receive it.

    Never thought of it that way! I was selling 99xRare Candy too!
    I didn't charge much though. Maybe got like $10-$15 total in the end.
    The Missing No item glitch took away my edge! lol

    Of all the years I've played this, I never knew about this. I knew about the truck and what not, but never this. I'll have to give it a shot next time I do a playthrough.

    Gametrailers actually detailed this the hard way honestly. You can get Mew once you reach Cerulean City. You just need to beat the nugget bridge and avoid a few trainers near Bill's house, then catch Abra and have him teleport during a battle trigger, then fight the slowpoke kid and Mew will show up when you go back down the nugget bridge.

    I remember begging my parents to take me to some sort of Pokemon convention (maybe a card tournament) 100 miles from our town. I made sure I was ready when I got there with my level 255 Snorlax. Didn't lose one match, and also won my first mew from some random, not very happy kid.
