I posted this earlier, and I'd still stand by it...you could probably build a complete CIB N64 collection for at or under $2000. ISS 2000 and Clayfighter SC, however, might be as much as 15%-20% of that...
I think more than $2,000. Didn't Nick buy (but it fell through) the CIB collection for close to $3,000. And thats when you buy all of them in a lot, which definintley decreases the price. Everybody always says, that most games can be had for around $5 CIB, which is true. They don't realize, that when you near the end of your collection, the last 75-50 or so games are all relatively pricey. Not NES pricey, but a lot of them go for $20-$30. I think the prices for those $20-$30 games will go up a bit in the next few years, but nobody really knows which games they are because only a few people have actually gone through and completed the N64 set (like me). I don't know, its hard to decribe. I hit a rut with my n64 collection when I was at 50 games to go. NObody had any of the games I needed for sale on forums, so I went to eBay for most of them. For most of said games, there would be one CIB copy on eBay, usually from sosafan for a BIN of like $24.99.... which I usually ended up buying.
Sooo... from scratch, I'd say maybe $3,500, unless you're able to find a lot of CIB's around your area, or get a really big lot score of 100 or so CIB games for cheap (which happens a lot, actually, but it all seems to be the same run of crappy 100 games)
I would be interested to know wich games I should look for in the wild because there seems to be a lot in my area,I even have a few places near my house that still rent N64 games.
If ever you had time Jumpman, could you send me a list of the 20-30 harder to find games.I don`t care about the ones that are worth alot but mostly the ones that will give me a lot of trouble tracking them down.

this was going to be my next question I was going to ask.
Recently I've been slowly building up my N64 collection as well. I don't have that many CIB games right now (around 35) but I have some of the more pricey ones. Also, the harder the game is to find, the pricier it's going to be (there are a few exceptions, though). Anyway, I recommend getting any Mario related game CIB as quickly as possible, because I think those will definitely increase in value. A few examples would be Mario Party 1,2,3, Dr. Mario, Super Smash Bros., Mario Golf, Mario Tennis, Mario Kart, Super Mario 64, ect. I've been paying about $25-30 for those (except Mario Golf & Tennis...those two are the most commone N64 Mario games).
Some other harder to track down games included Star Craft 64, Indiana Jones, Stunt Racer, Worms Armageddon, Clay Figher:SC, ISS 2000, Killer Instinct.
Hey Jumpman, besides ebay and NA, where else could I look for really common big N64 CIB lots? I don't have that many common games, and if I could pay ~4/game (no dups) that would be really nice. Also, the condition would have to be ok (7ish).
I`ve started collecting N64 the opposite way I collected nes.I`m trying to get all the boxes first, then manuals and after that tryiny to track down the games. It seems to be a lot cheaper and faster this way,I`m actually only missing around 24-25 boxes and I`ve only been collecting a few month.
The popular n64 games just like nes you are always going to pay more for. Harvest moon and ogre battle stay in the 30 to 40 dollar range. worms armageddon gets up there in price also. and of course the mario games stay pretty much between 20 and 40 dollars. the one I was getting 25 to 40 out of on a regular bases was killer instinct gold
I purchased a CIB N64 collection all at once (though it was missing International Superstar Soccer 2000) for $2500 + $200 shipping. It was advertised in great condition, though much of what I received was in shit condition...plus I only received half of my order, so I sent back what I received and got my money back. So yeah, I'd say a full N64 set is worth $2500-3000.
EDIT: From scratch, I'd say a full set would cost about $1500-1800, though it would take a long time. Think $5-6/game times about 300 games. Buy them in bulk lots when possible of course. Plus after resale you could break about even with this method.
