Keiji Inafune leaves Capcom.

I wonder if he'll turn up in a Western company. I also wonder how this will effect Megaman Universe and any other 2d Megaman titles.

  • Any future Megaman titles obviously won't have his input, unless they hire him back.

Given his recent comments, I won't be surprised if he ends up in the USA for awhile.
  • Wow, that just sucks, because he's been part of Capcom for 23 years, and the future for his franchise Megaman looks uncertain, but if he wants to leave because he hates his job and hates the Japanese gaming community, that's fine. I just hope Capcom hires him back or hires someone equally as good because he basically made Capcom what it is by introducing Street Fighter and Megaman in the 80's.
  • Tis a sad day at Capcom. image
  • The way he has been talking I think he was getting a combo of mistreated (probably for his whining/comments) and the simple fact they never want to do much new, killed off some good workers/teams, and just spew out some really tired crap. He got fed up and walked, shocking (not.) image If anything with his loss Capcom will suffer for it, but then again given their behavior towards Nintendo over the years on the whole I can't say I'd feel bad if they did. But, it's also possible out of desperation they'll hire up some real talent and start making some fun stuff to play again that's more fresh like in the 80s and 90s.
