Counterfeit awareness thread...
Is there a thread that compares counterfeits with genuine copies of anything? I know about the SE visual guide, but with the wealth of knowledge so many users here have about distinguishing real and fake, it'd be very practical to have a regularly updated thread that could track the trends of counterfeits and provide visual comparisons. I'm not talking about having an image for each individual copy of every game ever made, maybe just the most common games, games for a certain console, or qualities of games (factory seals, label variations) could be supported with visual comparisons.
The thread could also serve as a hub for eBay auctions featuring counterfeit materials, that way we could avoid having numerous threads about the latest counterfeits up for auction. It'd be a shame for all the information about counterfeits that our community members have to go unheard, or only to be mentioned in passing when a counterfeit thread comes up.
Thoughts?
EDIT: grammar
EDIT X2: I'd be willing to host the thread if there is enough interest in it! I won't be able to do it without the help of the community as I have little experience with spotting counterfeit materials.

I think a thread for that would be pretty beneficial to have.

I think with GBA (and to a lesser extent DS) it is a necessity
agreed. GBA and DS games have a high piracy rate
the only problem I see is if all of the ways to determine a fake are revealed, the shady counterfeiters will only use that knowledge to make a better fake next time, kinda of tricky situation.
Make it an ongoing part of the ezine, so they have to be members to download it?
That way if they get busted we can add them to the HOS!
Also, a Pokemon Gameboy Cart guide would be nice. I'm almost afraid to buy one on ebay because I hear of them be fakes so often...
