Back of cartridge for database?

I looked through the database, and there isn't much about the backs of cartridges for NES/SNES/N64. It doesn't exactly have to show what it looks like, just should suggest which type of back they use.

  • This could be a good idea, but is there any exact way of telling what backs went to which carts anymore? Of course, you do have the older ones (the ones you see more often than usual), and then the backs with the multi-language on them, but what if some of the backs on later games actually came with the older backs on them?

Seems like alot to try and order with too big of a margin for error.
  • This changes as many (or more) times over the course of the NES's lifespan than the style of the front labels (seals, Made in Japan, codes). No less, backs are swappable. I just think it would be more work and frustration than it would really be worth.

I agree. There would be so many backs for each it would almost be pointless. Maybe if there was a rare variant, or a non-standard back compared to other games.

which there are on some of the newer games.  Like Rollerblade Racer for example has the newer version back like all teh later releases but instead on having Nintendo engraved at the bottom of the cart it has the company name instead. Hi Tech.  I have a few Acclaim ones like this as well.  I thought that was pretty cool.
  • i've wondered how the backs go myself, does anyone know anything more about the numbers on the bottom of snes games? which numbers originally went with which games?
  • Yea WAYYY too many variants, it would be like if we tried to catalog every single different Black Box game with pictures and codes *cough Braveheart cough*
  • The best (and maybe only) way to impliment this would be to make it part of the sealed game thread. We make people list the different style of sleeve, but not the back of the cart (style, number, etc). That is the kind of information I would want.
  • I actually have them all documented somewhere... I'll eventually dig them up. I know the database has a spot for each back label scan and type, but the data isn't populated.
