Jobber's Continuous Finds

Update 5/5/11

Two decent Craiglist finds today. First was 3 Sega Genesis systems + 12 games for $25. This lot was three houses down from my childhood home. Weird how things like that happen.

Second lot: 2 NES systems + 22 games (3 CIB) for $60.

Pictures will be up probably tomorrow.

Update: 4/4/11

Picked up a nice lot of 47 NES carts for $50. Nothing too rare, but it included several decent games like Tecmo Super Bowl, Mega Man 3, MTPO, and Punch Out!!. I even got a few unexpected manuals including Mega Man 3 and Contra.

1/31/11

I had a great Craigslist weekend. Friday night I find a listing in a town about an hour and half away for 20 NES games (loose) for $30. Now, this was a decent lot, but not good enough to travel that far away. Luckily, the guy told me he would be in my town on Monday, so we made a deal. The 20 games included Mega Man 2,3,4, & 6.

This leads me into Sunday where I see a listing for a NES TV for $100 in the same town the previous guy was from. I call him up, make sure it's working and looks good, which it was. I told him he had a deal and I'd be there in a couple hours. So, being as I'd be in town, I called the other guy and offered to come pick the games up while I was there, which I did. I got in town about 6:15 Sunday night and get to the TV guy's house. He lets me in and has the TV set up with a game in it showing it worked great. The TV has all 4 feet, no cracks, and both doors. Unfortunately it didn't have the remote or controllers, but that's alright. Then the guy hits me with it, he tells me he use to run a video game/sports card store that closed about a year ago and he asked me if I was interested in other gaming stuff. Of course, I said yes. First he takes me to his hallway where it had a pile of about 15-20 SNES systems and 10-15 Xboxes. These looked pretty rough, so I passed on all of them. Next it took me to his hall closet where he had about 10-15 64s, a pile of PS2s and a few PS1s. The closet also had a CIB NES Action Set and a CIB NES Deluxe Set. I bought the Deluxe Set for $50. I also bought two rental carrying cases for N64s for $20. On to the next room. This room was pretty much sports cards floor to ceiling, not really me thing. But, one wall had hundreds of game system power bricks and AV cables. I could probably use some but I didn't bite on anything except one Gamecubs cord, which I got him to throw in for free. I was about to leave the room when he also said he had a neon Nintendo sign in the closet, Unfortunately, it doesn't work. He wanted $40, I offered $20, we settled on $30. I had to run to the ATM to get more money. He said well I might as well see the rest if I'm getting more money. On to the next room. First thing I see is a complete ROB. He asked $10, I jumped on it in an instant. I pick him up and under him is a Virtual Boy in good condition which he wants $10 for, of course I get that too. Over on the table are 20 NES sleeves, he wanted $10 for them. I told him I didn't want to go that high, so he said he'd throw in the manuals on the table. The manuals he spoke of were a pile of about 100 NES/SNES manauals. So I got the sleeves and manuals for $10. To round out my visit I picked up a Genesis Lethal Enforcers gun for $5. I passed on a top loader NES for $40.

So a breakdown of what I got:

NES TV: $100

CIB NES Deluxe Set: $50

2- N64 Rental Carrying Cases: $20

1 Gamecube power brick: Free

Nintendo Neon (broken): $30

ROB: $10

Virtual Boy: $10

20 Sleeves/100 Manuals: $10

Genesis Lethal Enforcers Gun: $5

Total: $235

After this it was kind of letdown going to the other guy's house to get my games. But, what a great trip.
