You know what guys - let's let Stan keep Bard's Tale. Technically it should be start to finish in 2011, but it was one of the games that didn't get completed last year. What does everyone else think?
I don't care if it doesn't, but good luck finding someone to beat it! It takes forever, even with mapping.
I could do it, but the level grinding got boring. Was working on it for a while last year actually, only reason it didn't get marked off was cuz I lost interest.
Last year I got about halfway through Bard's Tale then I got interested in TASing it and in the shuffle between testing for the TAS and the for real game, I lost my save.
I do like it but I can't handle a restart so soon! It's a game I can play every 5 years or so.
There are about a half million coutnerpoints that can be raised. It's why I asked for arguments to go with the objections I know what you mean though, but there is a saying that there are exceptions to every rule.

The majority of the game was done in 2011, and it's not like there was an excessive break between sessions. It's not like he started in January last year and started this year. He just started in mid December, took a break to play some Baseball, then went back a couple weeks later. As I said, I don't feel the spirit of the rule was violated, just the wording therein.
One thing that hasn't been mentioned is that Stan never took part in last year's thread at all. The fact that several games that he beat last year were unfinished then leads me to believe that he had no knowledge of the thread, meaning no reason to say "hey, I should just wait until January to start this."
Like I said, it'll take either a significant arguement, or at least more than one vote of dissention, to change my mind. I'm not gonna sweat it though, he could've flat out lied and said he did it all in January. This is done on the honor system, so there's nobody to cheat except oneself.
LOL! Well, no need to create an account. I figure with a Sesame Street game, daddy could beat the game if the little one can A "bit of help" also adds to that
We are going to get hammered with more snow this week so I will have some downtime to knock out some more games. I will see if daddy and the little girl can finish off the Sesame Street and Fisher-Price games in the next few days. She will be thrilled to be on the list of finished games with the "big boys". After we get these finished I am going to show her how to beat Tyson's ass. She has 2 older brothers and needs to learn soon.
Haha well, I'm not gonna edit it now, but I'll gladly put her name in (and edit the previous ones) when I get more added in I was just worried more about the legality, since having info stored on the site about anyone under 12 is illegal, but if you make the account and have no info in there, there's probably no issue at all.
And Alpha Mission is done. Took me two days to get the hang of it, but I managed to do it today after getting home from work.
Nice work Bea - I'm glad someone else finished it! I tried it a few weeks ago and got so bored with it. I'm not very good at vertical-scrolling shooters, anyway.

It would bother me if we finish this, and complete every single game this year except that one.
Does anyone else have any objections? Frankly, if only one person is bothered by it, it stays. Can't please everyone, but if there's a majority who don't mind or don't give two shits, it's gonna stay as is.
It's tough with these kinds of games. I mean, technically, I even redid most of my party when I started back up. I tried to play it evenly with a 'hunter' and 'thief' but found their skills were pointless in the longrun. Hunter is basically just a warrior without the best weapons and armor who occasionally deals out a single-hit kill on the most pathetic of enemies. Thief, well we know what he does, but you can use your magic user to open chests with a very low failure rate. So, technically, it's like I played it all over again because I replaced the hunter and thief with two warriors and had to spend a good week or so building up their experience. I mean, if you go by the 'played it a little in 2010' logic, you wouldn't be able to count my beating of Baseball, either, because I praticed it near the end of December, but I didn't beat it until January because it's so piss-ass hard. Does that make it not count? Kind of different, but just a thought.
See, that's a hell of an arguement there Stan. I know from my experience that it can take a while to build up characters in that sort of RPG, to the point that all you really did was speed up the levelling process.
Incidently, I was reading one of those Consumer Guide Nintendo books and found an interesting bit in a Bases Loaded entry. Apparently you do have to go through a season, but you also have to win 80 games to get the ending. Not sure how accurate that is, or if the end triggers after 80 wins or after a full season, but it may be a tidbit of info for anyone wanting to go for it to note. And since it actually HAS an ending (although I can't confirm this, sometimes those books are a bit inaccurate, but assuming it has one), I am far more convinced that a season needs to be played through to count it.
It's not really stages. It's baseball. Gotta win 80/132 games to get the ending. And as Stan had said previously, at 40 minutes a game, times 132 games...you're looking at 88 hours of game time just playing baseball. And if you win fewer than 61% of your games, you have to do it again. I can see why nobody wanted to beat it last year
It's really grueling. I like the game, but it's tough to get used to the fielding and hitting at first. Once you do it's a lot of fun, but not 162 games fun. You have to win at least 80, and then you go into the pennant race and then the championship. It will seriously take you about a year to beat it. Bases Loaded II cut down the total a bit. I forget about 4, but 3 is totally different, you just have to play one game and get a good score.

Odd, the article I found that in said it was 132 games, and that it didn't have a pennant race, you just got the ending for winning at least 80 games.
3 I believe required a perfect score on the high difficulty, but then that's just what AdamL said, it's hard to say if that's the actual requirements or if that's what he feels is completing the game. Sometimes it's tough to tell.
Started working on Uncharted Waters. Always liked trading, but never worked on the combat portion. Need two more mates, then I can build up a battle fleet...since by the time I get that far along, I'll have more funds than I'll know what to do with since I discovered a very lucrative trade route right near Lisbon...
Anyway, the point I'm making is that after 3 hours or so of milking funds out of the Europeans, I took a break and knocked off Solitaire. First time I ever popped in the cart too, played it with the draw 3 option (cuz single card draw is for pussies) and spent about half an hour knocking it off. Not a terrible version, and the music sounds mildly familiar...
Well, I only got an 88% on Bases Loaded 3. If you don't want to consider that a 'beat' I understand. The game is actually pretty easy to milk and get a high score. By tossing the ball low during pitching the computer tends to consistently hit a pathetic grounder to the right of the pitcher. Pick it up, toss to first. If the fielding weren't so fecking horrible it would be a really easy game. It's difficult through bad programming. I need to look at it again, but there is no difficulty setting as far as I know. Just one player, two player, edit team (I think), or the 'watch' option.
I'll leave it for now, since a perfect game on the highest difficulty does strike me as an oddball requirement. If anyone can show proof that that's required to get a different ending, by all means let me know.
Knocked off Wheel of Fortune: Family Edition as well. Figured I'd knock off another easy one while I was having trouble sleeping

Same thing with Might & Magic actually...

Rules are rules - it shouldn't count.

Put me down for Rad Racer and my 4 year old daughter down for Sesame Street Countdown and Hide and Speak (with a little help from dad).
I'll mark both down as her dad's username unless she happens to be a member here
And Alpha Mission is done. Took me two days to get the hang of it, but I managed to do it today after getting home from work.
I'm running out of games to beat.

I already did that madness for Super Sprint afterall...
I so need that game now.
