How do you hook up an Atari 2600?
Not sure if this is the right place to put this or not, but if anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. I bought an Atari 2600 at a garage sale and am not sure if it works or not. I never had one as a kid so I'm not sure I'm doing it right.
Here's what I've got: The black cord that comes out the back (male) is going into the yellow (female) video port (it has the standard red/white/yellow input ports) on my TV (Philips flat-screen HDTV). The adapter is plugged in and the TV input is set to the matching input. That seems correct. Am I missing something?
Secondly, is there a way to tell if it's not working? There's no light or anything like on the NES. I thought that the early systems were really hard to break since there's not much to them.

That black cord goes into either a computer/TV switchbox or a convertor that screws into your coax.
