I am King

Hello there, I just wanted to share one of my biggest accomplishments as a gamer (and it happened a few minutes ago): I beat Ninja Gaiden 2 with 1 life. I've been attemping this for some time now, and finally could do it tonight, and I did it on the first attemp! I have no video, but some photos of the final moments.

After a hard battle with the previous incarnations of The Jaquio, I was a bit low on life

Yay for Ninja Shadows

Crumble to the sea, you damn Castle Demonic!

Yeah yeah, shut up, and let's go somewhere private

So clichéd

I want to try it for Twin Galaxies, but I was a bit dissapointed to see they're too lax on their rules (five lifes? seriously?) and apparently allow for point racking, which I didn't do at all. Right now the first place for this game is a mexican, very curious... But his 1,800,000 + score makes me think he definitely racked points. Oh well...

  • Congrats this is not an easy task to complete!
  • Beating NG 2 ALONE is hard enough. You are a skilled warrior.
  • Wow nice job! Have you beat any other NG in one life, or was this your first?

Did you see the other record at TG? They have a fastest completion category also for NG2. If you can do it with 1 life, you should be able to do it quite quickly. The record right now is 13:26
  • (bows graciously in respect)
  • I only beaten Ninja gaiden 1 since you have unlimited continue ..

Ninja gaiden 2 & 3 are pretty much hard.

    Nice job so far!
  • Congrats. I know I have finished either this game or the first with only one life, but I can't remember which. Of course, when I try now, I die miserably.
  • Schooled. You know, this is a game I've never played past the first or second level simply because I just never sat down to do it. Some day...

I actually beat the game in 13:05, but never recorded it. When I did try to record it (many, many times), I could never duplicate it (I always messed up somewhere). If I don't record it, I do a lot better.
  • Fantastic work dude. Very impressive.
  • Congratulations!
  • I just played Ninja Gaiden 2 yesterday. I got to the last boss a few times and gave up because I needed to pee and just forgot I was playing it.

Even though the bad guys make no sense in that game, it's still wonderful. The hit detection is fair, the controls are great and the music is outstanding. I remember I found the game a bit disturbing as a kid because the imagery was fairly dark for an NES game.

I think my only similar achievement is I can do Contra and Super C with no deaths.

First time, first one. I think I can do NG3 too, but 1, I don't know. I also saw the fast completion record, I may try that one instead...
  • i tip my hat to you! very nice work image
  • Congrats, Jorge! That's some very nice work!
  • Congrats man, nice work!

Why not make that day today? ;D
  • Congrats! That game kicked my ass plenty of times, but I never beat it. image
  • Congrats man, and I agree about TG, they should do more 1 life tracks, Ninja Gaiden and Contra would be two prime candidates, what's with the silly 5 life tracks? Pretty pointless.
  • Good job! I beat Ninja Gaiden 2 for the first time last year, although it took me three days. Doing it on one life is pretty damn impressive.
  • Thank you all for the kind words.
