When is Donkey Kong for NES "beaten"

I'm just curious what everyone's opinion is?

One loop through? I know you get an extra man at 20k?  But those two options just seem way to easy.

I know it's been marked off the Wizards list the last two years, so there must be some consensus.

100K points?  500K?

Maybe you never really beat the game, it just beats you every time.

    well there are 255 levels before your "bonus" timer loops out resulting in a kill screen

    I'm guessing no one's got to the 255 kill screen. At some point the timer would be too low to even get to the top, would be an effective kill screen.

    Have you never seen "the king of kong"? I know it is about the arcade version..but a kill screen is a kill screen...and they are always possible to reach...

    Yes I have, seen King of Kong.

    I was going to "beat" the game today in honor of the "Kong Off" currently going on.  I'm guessing the people that "beat" the game for Wiz's list were just going the 20k route.

    Anyway if anyone wants to see the current "Kong off" Standings they can be found here:

    They were doing a live stream for a while, but you couldn't really see anything but people standing around.  They shut it down because of the sirius radio broadcast

    I guess I wasn't thinking on the kill screen. You get more time not less, so I guess it would be possible to reach it, but that's alot of levels to go through. I would consider that "TOTALLY MASTERING" the game.



    But just to consider it beaten should be a lot less, maybe 100K?
