Swamp Thing

While I'm not a big rarity guy, I have never seen Swamp Thing "in the wild" before it showed up at a local second hand the other day.  I know nothing of the game outside of the manual I read here at NA.

Is the game any good or is it just rare, and that said, is it worth the $15 they are asking for it?

  • The last e-zine had it at 11, and i've heard it's a terrible game, so I would pass
  • I don't think it's aweful but it's not worth $15.
  • Not a terrible game but $15 in the wild, mehh.
  • It's purely awful. I got it in a trade locally about 2mo ago so it cost me nothing thankfully as it's just all kinds of shitty wrong rolled up into one game. Jumping is wooden, the visuals are exceptionally poor for a later release title and the audio package is as bad too. The opening story is the most entertaining part of the game to watch, but even watching the rest sucks as watching someone else do it is bad too. I don't think it has continues, and it has some very very questionably bad hit detection issues. Also the whole gameplay thing is messed up as it endlessly respawns stuff in the same spots, and some spots you are required to take a hit so if you got hurt earlier ago you're just plain screwed.

Unless going for a complete set, are a Swamp Thing fan, or you're into S&M with your video games, avoid it.
  • unanimous against! Good to know. I will pass and hope it comes along cheap at a later date for completion's sake.

  • Yeah I wasn't a fan so after an hour of suffering I popped it up here as a few people were asking for it not to play but to complete a set so I just sold it to break even on it as I didn't care if I remember right.
