3DS Demo Tour

Has anyone checked these out yet?

I stopped by the one in Chicago over the past 2 days (it is in the train station that i arrive in each day for work).   Nothing extravagant, but they have about 8-10 3DS's on display with all the games (and the AR games) for you to play.

So far, i tried the AR game (target shooting or something), SFIV, Steel Diver, Madden, and I think thats it so far.  I plan on trying Pilot wings on my way home today.

Cool Idea, in my opinion. I'd recommend checking it out if you're in one of the four cities.

    Was that at Ogilve?
  • yes. it is still there until, i believe, april 11.
  • In case you're not in one of those 4 cities, check your local Best Buy if you want to try the 3DS. One of the Best Buy stores around me has a unit to try out. Maybe more stores do, but I've only been to the closest one to me lately. Anyways, the 3DS is pretty cool, although it takes a minute to adjust your eyes both before and after. All I've tried is Pilotwings though - it will totally take you back to Pilotwings 64, no joke.

Too bad the Tour isn't here in Ohio - I'd definitely check it out to try out more of the launch games.
  • i'm not pumped about any of the launch games. i'm almost rethinking my preorder now. i won't have anything to play. Steel Diver was probably the best; SFIV wasn't bad, but i don't think i want it on a handheld.
  • The Best Buy near my work had a demo kiosk set up, I tried it. The big thing that sticks out to me is that it definitely takes a few minutes to get used to the 3D effect. Once you get passed that magic eye level of squinting, it's a 3D neat effect and the general graphics are a big update from the PSP or the original DS. I wish the 3DS in the kiosk could be moved around though.

  • I just tried it at the Best Buy near me. They had it set up with Pilot Wings. Definitely a great 3D effect, and the adjustable 3D slider works well. A very nice 3D effect and great graphics. I like the feel of the thumb directional control. I however won't be getting one until they have a decent RPG available for it.
