Pokemon Sapphire oddity

So I was testing a copy of this game to make sure the battery still worked and had to start a new file.
I entered my name as ...
After the save and shutdown/restart my name was now EE

Not sure what made that happen but was weird nonetheless.
Thought I would share my pointless story with all
