Hey Mario Kart

FUCK YOU

for ruining almost every single racing game after you for adding a gazillion items that make it impossible to have a proper race and put it all down to luck

  • Um, not sure which Mario Kart you're referring to, but I've never had to rely on luck to win any race on any of the Mario Kart's.

There are still plenty of racing sims and realistic racing games available. Just stay away from the cart racing games if they make you this mad lol. I personally enjoy the havoc that is cart racing. It's not pure luck I assure you there is still some skill involved, of course not as much though.
  • Well I never liked racing games anyway, so Mario Kart is A-OK with me.

You don't think it is a bit ridiculous to be first place and have a guy hit you half a lap away that can't even see you then get hit twice afterwards while being 10 seconds away from the finish line?

The post was an exaggeration but I don't understand why you can't just have items like green shells where you actually have to aim and items that actually take skill to use.

That's what the blue shell does. Sure, it sucks, but it's never caused me to lose the race. If there was no challenge in it, then it wouldn't be half as fun when you finally achieve the skills to win every race in first place on the hardest CC's.

Do you get annoyed with Tetris when it doesn't give you 180 line blocks in a row? Same thing.

You can shoot shells backwards to prevent others hitting you, in some Mario carts you can jump projectiles, have the 3 shells circling you for protection, keeping a red shell for that ass who passes you last minute. These are all tactics you could use to prevent these things from happening. Cart racing is meant to be a bit crazy and less predictable.

Yah I guess my post was directed mainly at Mario Kart Wii.  Al the other Mario Karts are somewhat reasonable with this but the Wii version even with defensive tactics it doesn't matter.

  • Hah
I can see that, but the bigger fuck you to me is the piss poor games it has been in the last couple revisions. Between busted AI, massive online cheating, lame addon combat areas sucking compared to the original, some fairly lame courses, and those stupid bikes it's rapidly out of my interest of buying more. I've considered the last 2 total failures, if there's a third I treat games like baseball as I'm on a budget and it's nearly out.
  • You know, we didn't call the GCN version Double Dammit for nothing...
  • i love the snes version
  • I miss the days of super offroad and rock n roll racing.

that's good as some consider touching ones wii to be wriong
  • My personal favourite is Double Dash, but I can understand thinking the Wii one is unfair. The bullet item is so cheap.

What about rock n roll racing while on the roll and rocker? Now that is a Blast...

    well good for you

  • The 64 version blows goats, but check this SNES retexture out.

Oh and yeah, FUCK YOU Mario kart, for being awesome.
  • Mario Kart has been on a downward slide of dumb gimmicky aggravating items, boring track design, and stupid ideas since after the GBA release. DD on the GCN was average at best, wasn't a huge fan of it, but after doing the stuff after I got to appreciate how much less it sucked than I thought due to newer examples.
  • I understand were your coming from. It seems as if every race in the wii game in which your leading a blue shell is gonna hit you. I remember once in the Peach Beach? stage I was hit with a blue shell, thundered then flipped by one of those ducks things on the final turn on the final lap. Went from first to like 6th lol.
  • I think the problem shell and other sneaky stuff wise is that Mario Kart got perhaps more fun for revenge battling with buddies, but it came at the cost of single play or some AI included racing being outright shitty with little to no fun as the CPU will do the same stupid unavoidable crap each time and thats not fun at all.
