Sealed SMB 3 from Challenge Set

Sealed SMB 3 from Challenge Set , came today as a surprise in a lot I bought. What could I expect to get?

**edit**

The guy I bought it from was just selling a Challenge Set boxed and a Power Pad boxed. The picture showed a Super Mario 3 still in box, but he forgot to look underneath the system. That's where the sealed one was. The entire listing will resell for around $300 I would imagine. Pretty good catch.

  • a sealed one? hmmm I have never really seen a sealed system set before.
  • He's talking about the Challenge Set SMB3 -- it's got a sticker that wraps around the box, not like a typical seal. These are all over the board as far as price. I got mine for around $30, but I've seen them reach $100+.
  • Nice surprise
  • I bought mine last week for about $48 + shipping (from a Norwegian "collector").

But the last one on eBay, also last week, went for $102
  • ~$100 maybe a little less
  • There was also a $99 BIN last week which got sold
  • $36 for all that?  Damn son, that's a good find.
  • Interesting. I bought a "new" Challenge set a few weeks ago. The system was in mint condition, but had been used a couple of times (at most.)

However, it did have a sealed SMB3 with the Challenge Set tape on it.

    I opened it. Oh well.
  • ^ Did you record the contents of the SMB3 for the sealed contents list? If not, it would be a big help if you could post them in the appropriate thread, assuming that's still possible. image

As far as I can tell, it's the same as the regular SMB3.
  • haha, nice! I found a CIB "challenge" SMB3 at a thrift not too long ago for $3. It sold for $22 or so when I ebay'd it, I was pretty happy.

Probably so, but it would still warrant a separate entry for the fact that it has a unique wrapping, and I don't even think SMB3 is on the list yet at all to begin with so it would definitely help (although, again, if you are unable to list the contents at this point for whatever reason, I totally understand image )
