so anyone here excited about the release of portal 2 next week?

I dont play that many modern single player games (usually just nes and snes games hehe) but portal 1 was awesome and cant wait for portal 2

thought it has gotten maybe too much hype and am wondering if it will live up to its predecessor or whether it will be  a disappointmtent

    I'm excited just to hear what it's like. All the Aperature lab videos with Cave Johnson are hilarous and get me pumped up.

    Loved the first one, but I don't even have a computer that will play either of them. So basically I'd like to play it, but it's time for a PC upgrade first...

    yeah although with all that hype its also creating very high expectations...maybe too high and some people might be disappointed

    I don't think so. It's like Battlefield for PC. It's about gameplay, not story. Even if the story sucks, it's just a nice addition that doesn't need to be perfectly carved out. Yeah, expectations are high, but the gameplay should over take the story. I'm sure the story can't be that bad anyway.

    I have a lot of faith in Valve from their past games so I think it's gonna live up to it's expectations, I'm really looking forward to the co-op story mode.

    The payment is what worries me. At first I wanted to use pay-pal...but then changed my mind and click cancell on the paypal screen. (thinking it would cancell the transaction) Als I can't pay with cc now and my transaction is "pending". I've heard nasty stories about acounts being disabled for paypal chargebacks :-/. (I did send them an email to hopefully cover my ass if it happens)

    edit: issue fixed yay! (payment was an error and allowed me to stil pay)

    I'm pretty excited. I bought the Orange Box when it came out and the first game I played was Portal. I still haven't played Half Life 2, lol.



    It's going to be bigger and better, and the coop makes me ecstatic.

    I was one of the people who didn't play Portal until they gave it away free. It was a great game. At the time, I was super excited for the sequel. Now, I couldn't care less. If they give it away free someday, and it runs on my Mac or circa 2004 PC, I'll check it out.

    you can do the potato sack games to have it launch earlier

    I played the first one on The Orange Box for PS3 and had a blast with it. One of the few newer games I actually enjoyed, just thought it was way too short.
