Dragon Warrior / Quest Collection

Hello all,

This is my first post here, but quite a few of you know me from other sites. I just finished taking pictures of MOST of my Dragon Warrior / Quest collection and wanted to get your all's opinions. I still have some items on the way and will take those pics when I receive them.

Enjoy and let me know what you think. Maybe even some of you can post pics of your DW/DQ collections.

  • Very cool. Nice collection!!
  • I'll trade you this yummy half-eaten bagel for that collection...
  • Thanks guys! I will have more pics up of some other DW/DQ items I have coming soon.

And sorry, half eaten bagels just do not do it for me. image

What does your alls DW/DQ collections look like/contain?
  • Hey Carl! As you know, I don't have much of a DW/DQ collection. I am, however, slowly compiling a nice little Wizardry collection. I don't think there's many promo items out there, but my collection includes (all CIB):

    NES/Famicom:

Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord (NES)

    Knight of Diamonds (NES)

    Knight of Diamonds (FC)

    Legacy of Llylgamyn (FC)

    SNES/SFC

    Heart of the Maelstrom (SNES)

    Heart of the Maelstrom (SFC)

Bane of the Cosmic Forge (SFC)

    Saturn:

Wizardry VI & VII Complete (Jap)

Wouldn't mind snagging the PC versions too, but my first priority is console games. If anyone has a Wizardry game they'd be willing to part with that I don't have listed, LMK image
  • Are the dragon quest games like Dragon warrior on the NES.  The Dragon Warrior series on the NES are my favorite games ever.  It would be great if I could play something like them on PS2.
  • Dragon Quest = Dragon Warrior

The rights to Dragon Quest in North America at the time that Enix was planning to port the games was owned by TSR, Inc. Because of this, Enix renamed the series for the North American market. When the trademark expired, Wizards of the Coast (who bought out TSR a few years back) decided not to renew the trademark, thus allowing Square Enix to use the Japanese name on this side of the Pacific.

Wiz beat me to it, but the games are indeed one in the same. However, the ones we got here in North America are censored. There are slight differences between Dragon Quest(s) and Dragon Warrior(s). They are, however, ultimately the same games. You can read about those differences at www.dqshrine.com.
  • Wow...that I didn't know. Heh, leave it to the DQMan himself image
  • Ahhhh, another big Dragon Warrior fan besides myself eh! =)
