The best find of my thrifting career...

I didn't find much today, so I'm posting all of it.

These were pretty cool.

It was pretty funny. I was saying to myself in a Goodwill, how I've never found any of my classic 80's toys ever in the entire time I've thrifted. No Transformer's, no Thundercats, no M.A.S.K, no nothing. Two seconds later, I shit you not, I saw this on the shelf. So awesome and full of nostalgia. Most are in pieces but there are some salvageable ones in it and the pieces should sell as a nice lot.

Next were these two cool games for .98 cents each.

And finally.... never in my wildest dreams. It was .98 cents and then the shitty little store I found it in was having a 50% off sale on everything. .49 cents out the door.

  • Sweet, Bratz Corvette, I would so buy that!
  • Zelda CD-I for $0.49. Congrats! Those things are worth some very nice cash!
  • Haha that's awesome I've never seen a CDI game in the wild. Is there anything special about the genesis/gb carts?
  • man i need toys lol

  • Faces of Evil for .49c. UBER-STEAL!
  • Sell/trade me that zelda.  I'll 20x your money
  • Nice find. A buddy of mine went to a storage unit auction here a few months ago and found a Zelda cdi games that's worth about $300. He got that with about 10 other cdi games and starcraft 64 for $25.
  • Goodwill's are really good places to find things. I'm making it a biweekly thing to check all the goodwills in my area for cool stuff. Good pickups my man.
  • This is the first CD-i game I've seen in the wild too. It was sitting on top of a rotating cd tower. I almost shit myself when I saw it as I thought the guy next to me had already claimed it. Thanks god he didn't.
  • If you had shit yourself I PROMISE he would have left even if he wanted it.

I was prepared to do whatever it would take....
  • I would check if the Stephen King's The Shining is first edition or not. If you payed under 10, you still got a great deal either way...if you got a first edition...well...congratulations my friend.
  • Nice Zelda Find!
  • The Bratz car was the best find of your life. Don't deny it.

It's funny you mention that. I just finsihed looking it up. It's the Book Club Edition but I only paid $2.50 so it'll be a nice little flip.

That's why I listed that beauty first.
  • Wow, what a friggin find! I paid $1 a piece for Hotel Mario and Wand of Gamelon. Faces of Evil for $.49 is one for the ages.
  • man, I wish my goodwill had good stuff. they rarely have any gaming stuff at mine and when they do they price gouge like no other. I have a feeling that whoever the manager is at my local GW checks prices online or something.
  • wow, you're just like a buddy of mine with the zelda cd-i

he's been collecting all the zeldas and was missing one called -adventure- (its a cdi zelda too), so he goes to the goodwill near my house and bam' 2 bucks for that game. He now has all 3 cdi zeldas which have sold for 700 bucks o.o! Those games are insane luck to find and are some of the worst playing games ever lol
  • i heard the bratz market tanked.

I got it for $9 so it's worth the risk. I just sold a bed for $55 plus shipping. It took awhile but I was able to sell it. I'm thinking this will be easier to get rid of.
  • I see Zartan, Barbecue, Snake Eyes, BAT, Shipwreck, Bazooka, Cobra Commander (the silver-helmeted guy on the left really is him), those are the ones I recognize from when I was a kid. Someone who actually collects will be able to pick out the others no doubt.

Only classic stuff I found was a box of G1 TF accessories. $20, retail value about $300+. Megatron, Optimus, Jazz, Jetfire, Constructicons and Aerialbots guns and gestalt pieces, just a ton of great accessories.

Yeah, the characters are easy to remember. (It's Firefly, not Snake Eyes) I found a great website called YoJoe that lets you lok up accessories by color and stuff so figuring all of that out will be a cinch. So far, a rough estimate puts it all at about $80.

$5 for the bed. Like I said, it took about a month but it finally sold. If eBay doesn;t net anything, I'll just hold onto it until Christmas time and throw it up on Craigslist.

  • I'm still looking for Zelda's Adventure >_> I hate you people so much.  I see it on eBay for 300+  and I'm always irritated that I have no money to afford it.
