Dodgerdanny's continuous "In-N-Out Burger" pick-ups

I figured I should start a continuous finds thread instead of just creating new threads that cluter up the board and forum. Ill continue to post some of my better finds as they come along.

Earlier this week I found a SNES with AV cables, power adapter and controller for $7.99 along with an N64 with a power adapter for $9.99 at a local Goodwill store. Not the best of deals, but for $18.00 I think I did okay.

From ebay, I found a Retrogen that was listed "as-is / for part" but took a shot on it anyway. For $4.00 including shipping. Tried it and works pretty well with clean carts. Im gonna pick up a USB to micro USB cable to charge it (im currently using a car adapter for the TomTom because it came with no form to power source). This little device pales to the Nomad but for a couple of bucks its more than adequate.

  • That Retrogen for $4 bucks is a steal.
  • You had me at In-N Out Burger, but that said hell of a nice gamble to pay off there with the knockoff nomad.
  • Nice Find man
  • The N64 games and SMW were $3.99 a piece from Goodwill. Not an amazing find but solid titles with clean labels so I had to have them. The Earthworm Jim I found at the local swap meet this weekend for a $1. The best part of the swap meet trip was finding Shatterhand, a game I have been searching for a while now and it's great to finally have it. The same vendor also had the 3 Ninjas Kick Back cart which I know is somewhat rare so I was pretty excited to find one of the hard to find SNES titles out in the wild. I picked both up for $10 so I thought it was a pretty decent deal.

  • You got some pretty solid finds there, good hunting!
  • Argh where in SoCal are you, all the goodwills around here are complete crap up in northern san diego county. You did well again and nice with the Gamedude sticker, still surprises me that place is still in business and that I've never had a chance to see it just once.
  • Nice find with the 3 Ninjas...

I live in the San Fernando Valley but due to my job I kinda travel all over Los Angeles and Orange counties. The games came from a Goodwill in L.A county.

I would say that about 30-40% of the games I find in the wild up here have a Gamedude sticker on them, its really quite amazing how many classic games have gone thru their hands. The store is pretty cool, nothing but gaming goodness from wall to wall. I would suggest checking it out if you are ever in the area, althought the are pretty much right on point with the prices so it makes it a bit difficult to find a good deal on a sought after game. I did pick up a MetalStorm from Gamedude for about 5 bucks which was a real bargain so its not impossible to find some deals.

  • I live like 5 minutes from it and it's always funny when I find a game with the sticker from it. They still have Earthbound at decent prices but it's never in stock. The people who used to work there were douche bags but they are cooler now too.
  • Do all of the used games from Gamedude have the annoying silver sticker on them?
  • I saw the title of this thread and thought you'd be talking about animal fries.

    yup
  • Cool I know where you're talking about as far as where you live. GD I know they more or less are on par or slightly under the low-mid level ebay clearing prices. But like what you quoted I recall historically when Bonk was worth $50 ($60 game these days) they had been asking $25-30 for it which I would have loved back then. I think they're just very hit and miss on huge deal or neat deal if you're local but not if you're blowing a tank of gas there n' back which is why I haven't gone.

Honestly I'm looking to check out the brand new Sandiego Play N Trade that just opened as I've seen countless threads here over the last couple years of people finding sickening good deals on a lot of obscure or even common stuff that goes for more anywhere else.
  • i never really understood how people could let games get so gross and food encrusted, nevertheless you got some good finds there.
