Paper Guys - Tons of Mail Away Stuff, Warrior World Newsletters, NP Subscriber Bonuses, Virtual Boy
You paper guys will probably find this lot quite interesting. I was actually quite excited about this one. When you're buying game lots, you usually know exactly what you are getting. When you buy a ton of paper, it's always a mystery and you wait until it is in hand.
So this was the picture from the listing:

It's got a ton of Nintendo Power Subscriber bonuses from about 1994-1999, mostly N64 era (my favorite). Tons of various supply catalogs, various annual posters, etc. I've snapped a few pics of some items:
Sample of random subscriber bonus. Stickers from Rogue Squadron and a 1999 Pokemon Calendar.

Now a more interesting item. The Goldeneye 007 Subscriber bonus. Only problem is that it is still partially sealed and never opened. The collector in me wants to leave it sealed, the kid in me wants to open it and verify the contents. I remember having this as a kid (was subscribed to NP for about 4 years) but of course all of that stuff was lost. One sold on eBay a couple months back for $20 (incorrectly listed as "Press Kit" though), pretty neat to have. It's got a bunch of screenshots / and preview hype surrounding the game, packed in a "Confidential Information" folder, as if you are an agent being briefed.

This was one of my main reasons for purchasing the lot. The Nintendo Power Earthbound insert. It's got several scratch n sniff areas on it, neat item. I've been looking for one to add to my CIB Earthbound for about 2 years now, glad to have it. Debatable as whether it's required for a "truly complete" Earthbound, but I definitely wanted it. Also pictured are some cool mail-away Virtual Boy glasses as some promotion though Nintendo Power.

Now for a collector's conundrum. If you collect mail away items, then do you collect the actual mail-away for the mail-away item? Eh who knows, but here's the mail-away for the Dragon Warrior IV Hint Book.

Now for the real juicy stuff. About a year ago, we discussed the "Warrior World" newsletter, and we could only confirm two issues, Spring 1993 and Summer/Fall 1993. (Previous thread: http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=5&threadid=40680 ) I can now confirm at least 5 issues, Summer 1992, Spring 1993, Summer Fall 1993, Winter 1993/1994 and Spring/Summer 1994. I bought these from the original owner and these were all he owned. Not sure if it's a complete set, but he knows he didn't lose any.
And finally, also got a "The Pit" Newsletter which appears to be a mail-away newsletter for Mortal Kombat II. I'm a big MK fan so I'm happy to own this too.

Figured at least someone on here would be halfway interested in this. I don't know if I'd sell any of this, but I could be interested in a decent trade or two possibly.

could you please run some sort of an auction for those newsletters if you are going to get rid of them?
that earthbound insert came attached in the back of nintendo power issue #74, not with the game

Yeah I didn't think it came with the Earthbound game, I just always considered my copy incomplete until I obtained it. Personal preference really, but you do see some Complete Earthbounds that are listed with the NP Insert. I was willing to pay $15 for it alone, so thanks for the tip about issue #74.
It's doubtful that I'll part with the newsletters, but if I do, it will be via private offer and not auction. Once again, personal preference.
i like that they are SNES era.
Acid if you saw this and were bidding how did you not go A LOT higher. If I had not been on vacation and saw this it would have at least quadrupled in ending price..lol

lol, yeah... I talked to him over PM and told him "Thanks for not running me up" because I bid to win. If someone was going against me, it would have hurt someone's wallet (mine or the winner's) much more than expected.
does the first one have any reference to being the "premiere"?
this person had a really nice collection of magazines and guides because i won the guide lot for a great price and lost all of the minty nintendo power magazines because they went too high.

Of course all of the links are long since dead. He didn't list specific dates or anything on the newsletters either. So I'm assuming that he listed 7 unique issues, but I can't rule out listing 5 unique issues with 2 duplicates. Feel free to post any additional info if someone has it.
they are worth at least $200, in my eyes @ only $40 each and that is what i would have bid/ do offer

I wanted to follow up to this. The first sentence of the first issue I have reads: "Welcome everyone to the latest edition of Warrior World!" So I'm inclined to believe there may be one or two issues before Summer 1992...
Also, I looked more closely at "The Pit II" newsletter. It is Issue #2 Vol #1. So there has to be another one of them floating around too.
