Bio Force Ape (homebrew) cart

I remember seeing something at Cinematic Bazaar regarding the BFA carts being sold out, and I remember reading on a different forum that they were planning on releasing it as a CIB.

So I contacted the guy about a month ago, and he hasn't gotten back to me.  Can anyone help me with this mystery?  Thanks in advance.

  • You are probably thinking of the Competition Homebrew, yes, that one isn't sold anymore.

ProgrammingAce finished the homebrew, and plans to release it, not sure when.
  • Aww, that's too fucking bad. I really wanted a cib, too. Anyone have one that they're willing to sell, CIB? Thanks!

The CIB release hasn't happened yet.  Seems like everything was ready to go, then it just all fell through.
  • I was thinking the final release will be CIB, if it ever happens (homebrew one)

Joe (nesdump) is cart only on the Prototype that surfaced
  • Aww, that's too bad. Well, at least I didn't miss anything important, then! Phew!
  • If you're still wanting to buy the cartridge, Joe (TheNESDump) really is a reputable seller. I've been thoroughly pleased with each purchase.

The guys name is Dave and the problem with Cinnematic Bazaar is that he no longer checks that email (well he may check it once every other month).  They aren't planning on doing anymore stuff and he's pretty much stopped everything.

They've only released the cart of the competition cart.  I have an extra cart I would sell to you for 75 shipped if you really want it.  There isn't a CIB that anyone has made and I know that Dave isn't planning on doing any more with this.  They were planning on doing other homebrews also but I think they may have gotten worn out with this one.

So as far as I know, they are done.  They also only made 99 total carts, not 100 that was planned (not sure why).  I doubt you are going to get anywhere trying to contact him so I would just assume this project is dead and won't be revived.

So pm me if you want the extra cart, it's number 085 and the price shipped in USA is $75, more if you live elsewhere.

I have bought the prototype repro from Joe and I can concur that Joe did an excellent job.  I know there are a couple other websites you can check, nesreproductions.com, gamereproductions.com may have one, and timewalkgames.com may have one (they can do foil labels also).

If everyone would be interested, I can see about a CIB being made.  Possibly with a map...

Now your talking my language. A limited release of the Proto would be sweet.

  • Indeed, I would certainly line myself up for one of those!
  • You can get the prototype cart version at thenesdump.com, he has them available.

If any of this were true, I hope i'd be the first one to know... since i made the game and all. It's finished and sitting on my hard drive. No carts have been produced for the final game, i'm not sure what's going to happen to it.
