So, Lincoln is buying up the Yellow Canopy stock, Smallwood Video Center's games have gone from Maryland to Finland and Oklahoma, and I don't even want to figure up the interest on a 20 year old $10 late fee.
it prolly is with a name like that, i just saw an old sticker on the back and posted without thinking about whether is was from a rental place or not. sorry bout that.
I started unpacking games today and found a couple of my ex-rentals. Keep in mind these are the ACTUAL TMNT games that my friends and I rented from our local rental place "Video Library" as kids. The store is looooong gone, and I feel extremely lucky to have gotten this piece of my childhood. Begging our parents to take us to Video Library to rent a game, then playing it all night with sodas and bags of chips are some of my favorite wintertime memories.
Fat chance I know but if any of you guys find any cart from Wild Willie's in Duncan, OK I will buy it from you. This is THE place that I rented games from until about 1993. Some of my fondest memories are of me and my dad going there on Friday afternoon and renting the latest badass NES/SNES games for the weekend.
Awesome, I used to rent movies and games from both of these locations in Ohio all the time. Can't say I rented either of those games though. That brings back good memories.
Wrecking Crew was at a Video Magic - three locations listed, not sure which this was in: Atlantic Beach, FL; Jacksonville Beach, FL and Saint Augustine, FL.
It even has a Be Kind, Please Rewind sticker. Never figured out how to rewind an NES cartridge, though.
I have a Power Blade that has a rental sticker on the back. Sadly, no address or phone number. *sigh* Just the typical, "Do not remove or you'll have to pay full retail price." Which is pretty humorous to see now... XD
Just picked up a copy of Jurassic Park for the SNES. On the cart it read: Blockbuster, PPG, 51009. Looked up the string of words and numbers in Google and came up with the following: 1345 Kempsville Road, #101 Virginia Beach, Virginia 23464-6177. The best part is is if it really is from VA it took one hell of a trip cuz I bought it here in central MA.
I found at copy of Rainbow Islands at my friend's game store that was from the place I used to rent games from as a kid. Mr. Video in West Sand Lake, NY

I found a Baseball Stars cart in my collection that comes from Game King out in Lawton, OK. They still exist as well.
Speaking of Baseball Stars....
